4th Semi Annual So Cal Meet n Greet

OK gang, the last meet and greet went off wonderfully without any major drama. I am ready to go wheel again today, but want to get some member input before I start the next plans.

I am wanting to set the next event up for March 2011.

So, with that said, I am considering going back to Anza Borrego in San Diego area, which has a lot of great wheeling and challenging desert trails. Or trying a new place and going to Hungry Valley/Gorman off of the Grapevine which offers mountain/mud/possible snow etc.

Give me some feedback and let me know what ya want. Thanks in advance for your input.

Jeff

Both sound good to me. Jyll and I are ready to go again.

I have been to Anza with a dirt bike. I think it would be more fun in the jeep. Lots of sand.

I have never been to Gorman - I have heard good things. Mud sounds like fun.
Hmmm... Snow... Tent camping in the snow sounds chilly... Brrrr

How does the Anza compare the the Gold Mountian trail... Harder or easier?

I had a great time at the 3rd Semi Annual M&G.. looking forward the 4th. - thanks.

Anza is about on the same level with Gold Mtn. A couple of tougher spots with ledge climbs, but nothing impossible. Has a lot of relaxing dirt road driving.

Up for Anza. I guess I will have to start saving for 35's and SYE. Oh and a front locker.

You will be fine with your current tire sizes. I have done Anza twice on 31s without trouble. Alright, we seem to have 2 for Anza and 1 for Gorman. I will go with the popular choice when scheduling and planning.

Oh, but you "should" have the 35s and SYE before doing anymore off-road driving though. The mods mean that you are less likely to break stuff, ya know? And I am hoping to have 33s, and a SYE before the next meet also. Hope to get the wife's XJ up to par also. We will see if the money tree produces this fall.

That would be considered a party foul.

I was thinking of my "Happy Place" and that was what kept my mind from completely snapping.

It all sounds good to me. Both are a bit further for me to travel so I would most likely be staying the night. I like the sound of that. And this time, no wedding to go to.
