Is the pot luck for Saturday? Whats the plan for Friday, just wanting to know if its cooking out all weekend or were you guys planning to hit up a local establishment? I'm game for either idea, just need to know.
I'll talk to the wife and see what leftovers we can scrounge up to bring for the potluck.
Pot luck from Saturday. Friday is open for what ever you want to do. We generally just fix meals for ourselves on Friday afternoon/evening. From what I recall, there are not really any places to get food in the immediate area.
1. i notice there are 2 m&g threads, which one do i post in for comments and questions?
2. what time do we start sat morning?

Jyll and I can bring chips. We'll get a wide variety. Unless that is too many chips with Rebuilt bringing them too. Is there sucha thing as too many chips
Anybody know what trails we are planning to ride on Saturday?
We are booked at the Desert Ironwoods for Fri and Sat!!!
Turdhurdler: Pasta/garlic bread
Beantown: Chili
Yomondo: Sauce
ThetoadLJ: Crap Cookies
Rebuilt and RubiDubiDoo: Chips... I like tortillia chips
Fred, don't sweat either of those runs. There are a lot of runs I would advise many Jeepers against running but not either of those two. And a stock Jeep will do just fine with either of them. Really.
Both the TJ's that we have aren't stock (only the JK is). On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the toughest trail) what would you rate it for the average jeeper? (Keep me on here as a maybe, im gonna kick it around for a bit)

I did it in a stock YJ the first time. A couple of spots had me thinking twice, but my little Jeep suprised me. After I did it with a lift on my YJ I had no issues what so ever. It was actually more fun with the stocker since it took more finess to get over the obsticals.
The squeeze is maybe a 4 with a good spotter. With HAH, just for the sheer visual factor, I would say a 6 or 7. Again, with a good spotter.
Hard for me to answer that for ya. I don't have an oil pan skid either and I do have a couple of scrapes on it, but no punctures luckily. Have you lifted your Jeep yet?
Personally, I would look into disconnects first, but armor is very important also.
Ran Pinion Trail this past Sat. Snow falling on the higher elevation just before the descent into the Squeeze. Camera failed just as we arrived at the Squeeze. There were four of us. I know, no pictures, no happen. I'll work on it. The rains always have a way of changing trails. The Squeeze was ok, Heart Attack gets smoother every year. (Less abrubt at the top, so its not as dramatic). The wash up to Fish Creek has the one climb which has gotten deeper. It was not doable by us with the mud on the tires/trail. One Jeep was also a Rubicon. When dry you should be able to walk right up with spotting.
We went up Sandstone canyon. It turned out to be quite fun. I was looking for the sign that closes the trail at a certain point, but never saw it and ended up at the top of the mountain with no hint of a trail left.
The light rain left us and the sun came out, turned out to a nice day in the desert with no Dust in our wake.
I highly recommend this trail for all. With experienced folks along, the likes of Jerry and Jeff and others I am sure, you will have a great experience jeeping. I am still planning on being there, but you know how life is.
