Question 5 Day Weekend July 4th



Anyone interested in doing anything for a couple days July 4th weekend? Looks like between the holiday and being Government Furloughed, I have Thursday- Monday off. Don't really want to stay home with a schedule like that..

Not interested in a day run...more of at least a few days if possible. Due to low funds because of the paycut I'm taking that comes with this Furlough, I can't drive 5 hours to get somewhere, but I can stay gone for a few days.

Anyone ? Anywhere?

I'm a Government Employee.. we are all being Furloughed. We're off July 4th, I'm dropping a leave chit for the 5th and my Furlough off day without pay is Monday, July 8th.

Yah, the on-call every other weekend deal kinda sucks, but overall my job is a pretty sweet gig.

Hawaii is not being Furloughed either...I'm sure a few places are not. But, we are.

I'm a permanent DoD employee and have received no directed furlough days as of yet....
And unfortunately it feels like someone better be on they're deathbed to even think about asking for a day off...lol
I'd like to so some wheelin over the holiday weekend though...have you done Matino wash yet?

Are you a contractor?? Contractors are not being Furloughed. Only GS employees.

Not yet. I don't want to do something that risks breakage right now, and I know that place is a bit tougher than Calico/BB..not sure it's worth the risk at this time. Front locker is out too right now; not sure if it'll be fixed by then. Remember; stock axle F/R with 30 Spline rear is what I'm rolling on right now.

Nope GS 13 here, I think it is just certain departments. I work within the VA system and with all the folks returning we can't work enough hours.

I always had time to wheel...I work the 9/4/5

Every weekend off and 3 day weekends every other week. Now I have that every week, but with a 20% paycut...and for 3 months.

I got ya when I was working at Balboa we did the 9/4/5 I loved it here we just do the 5/2 all the time sprinkled in with the OT on Saturday/Sunday or a Holiday.

Yea but you would be surprised at how many folks came in of Father's Day... I won't work the weekend because that is my family time but I do come in an hour early and leave an hour late.
