6/29 big bear run heartbreak ridge and holcomb

Went and did a big run with a bunch of guys here was a pretty good time...only issue I had was keep the trail clear when stopping several times guys blocked the whole road and one kept stopping in the middle to look at his jeep and others would park right and left a d then all get out...the other jeepers were getting irritated trying to get past...aside of that nit was fun.

Heart breake ridge took a bit too long with all the stopping wasn't a bad trail a good beginner/middle ground run that was fairly scenic.....scott and I tried a couple of extra credit lines which added some fun...,

Overall it was a good run a good bunch of people.

Then scott and I headed off to do a fast run on Holcomb creek (35 minutes lol) we hammered through and took my 5yr old gold panning for fun on the other side...have no idea how to pan so we made silty water basically lol....but Kai had a blast....

Almost flipped the jeep over backwards on a rock that my 4dr can make...lol short wheelbase had me do a wheelie, pressed clutch in and let back roll out bring front end back down to the ground...

My death wobble is back but everything is tight so I get to hunt the culprit down day. Also open the rear diff and find out how come its not getting power even though its got power at the outside of the case....my guess is bad connection inside....

I have more pics that are trying to download but of course internet and computer is having issues....

Was this the first run in the new Jeep? Sounds like it's a good thing you went so you can get the issues taken care of before the Meet & Greet

Yeah a shakedown run shook out a couple issues....got 3 days till we camp for 3 up there so I need to iron them out fast....

2 door crushed my 4dr in the rocks, went through it like nothing....the rear bumper didn't get hit in the rocks while I heard Scots slamming rocks...

Cool pictures, it looks good on the rocks

(note to self: do not let husband or myself follow Brut4ce's lines at meet & greet)

I hope you get everything taken care of before your trip. No matter how prepared, every trip we've taken anywhere has had last minute stuff happen. I swear it's some type of vacation gremlins

Travis, I still can't believe that fallen tree didn't waste your rear tire. Scott was right. And I was just about to get my saw out. I didn't know you could use your sidewall as a pivot point. Learn something new everytime I go out. Had a blast everybody. Mark.

It was a pleasure having you guys tag along. Heartbreak really is a nice little walk in the park isn't it? Sorry we slowed you up with our lolly gagging. Hope to cross paths again sometime.

I thought we had a fantastic day myself, Lories group was fun to finally wheel with, and we had no breakage issues at all. When I lead one of these runs, I like to start early enough to take our time on the trail, I work off of schedules all week long, and don't want to run a trail in a big hurry. When its with a group I've never wheeled with before, I may take a little extra time to make sure everyone is ok with the pace, as was the case on Saturday. Looking forward to the next run!

I agree. We like to take our time once out on the trails.. I'm not sure who all was having issues with their rig; as I was up in the front, but if you're having issues with your rig, ya gotta check it out.

We had a blast..and it was fun finally having a chance to wheel with you Stan. We have many more "wheel offs"

I agree vehicle issues need to be looked at but not in the middle of the road.......

I'd hope there was no breakage on that run . Sometimes maintenance is overlooked though I'm guilty of that. Lmao too big a hurry and figure I can get a little more use out of it.....

I'm sure whoever it was back there was probably just preoccupied at the moment and too concerned with the issue at hand. Just a friendly reminder about blocking the trail would have been all it took to keep him from doing that....and maybe a "Hey buddy, need a hand?"

It was you and the yellow jeep at the end of the trail blocking as well...lol
I went through the bushes so we could leave as well as those other jeeps that were stuck a couple times behind us...he was pretty irritated with it and vented to me...as did the jeep behind him.

I'm not complaining scott and I were a bit irritated next time I'll say something....

Either way it was a good run and keeping a lane open for others is wise so we should all practice trail etiquette AND someone left a bunch of bottles on the trail....no dust on em and weren't there when we stopped...so we should probably converse to others to pick up there garbage....we usually pickup broken bottles as well because I don't need my kids foot cut while playing...

Don't know Steve, lol but remember I chopped 7" off the frame and in the pic its closer to the ground then that without a bumper too...

I did a rear wheel stand there, tried 5 times came close to going sideways over 2 and almost over backwards once....scott said my face was priceless lol he thought I was going over backwards....lmao I track standed it tall......

That rock is a pain for 4doors as well, stretch and stickies would make it a bit easier...

I'm not really wanting to get into a pissing contest with you...we'll just chalk it up to our wheeling styles probably don't mesh too well with the people I normally wheel with. I for one, couldn't imagine wheeling around friends and cutting trails to do so while someone was checking their rig, or stopped for whatever reason. As for trail etiquette, it's normally practiced and I hold annual trail clean up runs as well. We just aren't ever in that big of a hurry when we wheel. Like I said, different wheeling styles. No biggie ...there's enough trails to go around.

You can't preach trail etiquette right after admitting that rather than ask someone to move, you just barreled off the trail and over the bushes. Since I was up front all day, I had no way of knowing people were leaving trash on the trail behind me, or I would have told them to pack it out. I'm not shy. And if they had refused, I would have picked it up myself. Then told them not to bother coming on one of our runs again. We are a very trail conscious group. I care more about Tread Lightly than I do about most people. Or their feelings. I think we've reached the end of this discussion. I hope you have many years of good wheeling. Good day to you sir.

I did cut around and yes it was wrong. I wasn't going g to bring the bottles up but figured I'd get pointed out so I went ahead and said it. Its not a pissing match I'd have said something.
I had a good day none the less but I wheel differently for sure......
Either way like me or not I'm still one of the first people to help on the trail and off so don't have hard feelings if something is needed and I'm there I have thick skin and don't take stuff personal....issues are issues and everyone is different but that doesn't make me better just another different person...

Sorry bud, I was leading the trail, and pulled off to the right to air up. I do remember someone pulling up beside me, but if someone's in my way, I usually ask them to move so I can leave instead of making a trail thru the brush, giving the tree hungers more fuel to shut down trails. As far as the bottles, that's absolutely not acceptable and if I saw someone leaving them I would have put them back in their lap. JPi has adopted one trail off the 38, and going for more. We want to see more trails open than close. We work with the forestry closely to maintain and reopen trails, and we know what they look for.

Yeah I know it wasn't a you lol..........

I don't get after people for junk half the time I dont see it happen but I have a bag in the jeep that I use for trash....I'm in domestic dad mode 100% of the time lol....with kids its just another daily thing.....
If I saw it I'd have mentioned it too them no doubt politely but would have addressed it...

So if I'm a bad guy for bringing up stuff that was a bit irritating then I'll be that guy better to mention it then not....

People in glasshouses should not throw stones! Your the guy in the Red jeep that cut the trail, went up the embankment, got stuck, keep backing up and going forward tiring up the side of the trail that almost hit me! O with a little kid in the back seat. and your up set about a guy making sure his rig was safe . WOW REALLY!

First off I didn't almost hit you that's grasping at some air there...I already admitted to trail cutting and my bad for that.
Yes my kids in the jeep we didn't speed or crash I don't drink and I'm safety first but he will still race mx...

The guys control arm was loose but instead of pulling over and addressing it he stopped in the middle of the road and then one to each side a couple times....seems easier to address the issue instead of look at it snap a ton of pictures of it and then go on only to pull over again....

So again I mention stuff if people are to insecure to just deal with stuff or get all defensive that's their problem....I can admit my bad but make no claim to perfection or glass house...

Same here Rob, the only thing I would have changed last weekend was the 90 degree heat! All else was fantastic!
