This would be the perfect trip for you then, consider this your official invitation to join the group! This is one wheeling group where egos don't come into play, everyone is helpful and we enjoy being helpful to each other. Just pay attention to the requirements that Turdhurdler has layed out earlier in this thread with regards to safety, drinking, and minimum requirements for your Jeep. You'll have a ball!

HI, my name is Sandi and I am Jeff Shuff's (Turdhurdler) girlfriend. I was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma Feb 14th of 2008 and it affected 5 of my lypmh nodes. I had to have surgery and under went Interferon Therapy for 6 months. I am a two time cancer survivor, at age 31 I was diagnosed with Stage 2 cervical cancer and had surgery and then at 33 I had melanoma. If you want anyone to talk to or just get advice or answer any of your questions about melanoma or treatment you might need send a pm and I will get you my phone number. I know when I was diagnosed it helped a LOT to talk to people who had been in the same boat. If you don't hear back from your doctors by today that is a good thing. If I don't hear back from you you are in my prayers. FYI - I am cancer free now and doing very well.

Come on out, you will be fine. I have gotten bone stock Jeeps through the planned trail for the beginner/intermediate group. You will not be left out as coyote bait in the wilderness. For people fresh to our wonderful hobby, I tend to place them somewhere in the middle of the pack so that they can see how others choose a particular line and also so that there is someone behind you should you need a tug backing up.

So, with all that said, should I put you on the going list?

Jeff

Your 2012 Jeep will be more than up to the challenge. A CB radio is citizens band radio. Uses commonly by truckers to communicate on the road. We use them to stay in contact on the trail, notify of oncoming traffic on the trail, possible stuck or breakdown on the trail etc. You can usually get a decent radio at places like Radio Shack, most electronic stores or truck stops will have a giant selection. There are several members on here that can help you decide what CB radio is best for your needs.

As for reserving a camp site, I think all the reservable sites are booked, but the other side of the campground is a first come, first serve situation. So if you are able to arrive on Friday late morning or early afternoon, you should be able to get a site without any issues. Just may have to walk or drive a bit to hang out witht he larger group. Or another option, is if someone is willing to share their campsite with you and split costs. Will you be up for the entire weekend or just the big run on Saturday?

We kinda party both Friday and Saturday nights. But Saturday tends to be the big event of talking about the days events, making new friends and all around campfire chatting.

Have to share- the garage has been cleaned out/organized, the parts are all here (I hope), the hubster is taking the day off- and my lift is finally getting put on this weekend! Totally newb-y to post work before its been done but had to do it. Soooo excited.

Thank you very much for the support. I am a little nervous for my results to come back next week. I had surgery Wednesday and it is now early Saturday Morning. They removed a 6 inch wide section from my back around the malignant mole and took 3 lymph nodes from my groin. It is pretty painful but i realize this is a small investment in the long run. I am starting to bruise and swell in an area that "really concerns me" but I guess this is normal from what the doctor says. My cousin had the same thing at my very age and had many more lymph nodes removed and 8 years later she is still ok but we both know is still at risk for the rest of her life. I'm the 5th in my family to be diagnosed with melanoma. All on my fathers side of the family which is predominantly German and Irish. I am 50% Icelandic, 25% German and the rest is Irish and some sort of European so you can say i'm fair skinned. The doc told me that the German heritage has the highest rate of Melanoma rate of all, so to all you other Germans out there, get you and your family checked out sooner than later.

Once again I appreciate you sharing your story and your compassion with me. I'm trying my best to stay positive and am more anxious then nervous you could say. But it's in God's hands now so i'm praying for the best.

I hope to be cancer free by the time I head to Big Bear, but either way, I'm still heading out!

So for the last M&G jeff designed and order shirts which was AWESOME but i want to step it up this year and order CAN KOOZIES! Now ive already taken the liberty of desinging a few and calculating the costs. As for the.koozies if we order 200 or more its .41 cents so 200x.41=$82. (Free shipping) For anything less that 200(100-199) is .74 cents. So 100 would be 74 bucs 150 over $100. Now wat colors should we do ive picked burgandy and yellow. I like i think it looks good. Here are two of my designs. I need your feed back and your interest it needs to be orderd in a week or two. We can also do shirts with the same design but i havnt had.time to look into that cost.

I like a cozy with the grill on it personally.

I was wanting to do t shirts again, but with the recent vet bills the budget is a bit tight to front the costs. The cozy idea is great.

I am not sure how you did the shirts last year but I/you can design them on Zazzle and then people can order (or not order) as they see fit. You just post the shirt "for sale" and then people can go to the site and buy if they choose. They can also pick style of shirt: tank, tee, hoodie etc. The basic tee is pretty cheap.
Happy to help if it makes it easier.
Left side front of lift done...only 3 more to go.
