I've only run John Bull once before, and have never run Holcolm. I have GPS tracks for the trails, and will assist the trail leader and the group in any way, but you would only want me leading if no one else with more experience on these trails steps up.

Wow... it's been a couple of months since I last checked the forum out and here I am missing out on another Meet and Greet!!!???

Unfortunately I don't think I am going to be able to make this one, I commited myself to help my sister and her husband move (I know, I'm an idiot), but I am going to try like hell.

If I do come I guess I will just try and snake a spot at Holcomb or see if anyone doesn't mind splitting.

Well, I hope to see you all again, but if I don't... Have fun and be safe out there!

If you drink enough Tennessee Honey, you won't hear ANY snoring. In fact you might even wake up finding your tent door still open and not knowing when and how you even got to your tent.

The way it seems to be going is that it will be groups of about 10 per for the beginner and intermediate trail, (Gold Mountian) lead by me, and 10 each for the John Bull run, then back to camp and another group of 10 for John Bull and Holcolmb, then return to camp. I know there are some of you that know the mountian like the back of your hand, and have very capable rigs. If you volunteer, I expect you to be patient with other members, enforce the rules mentioned in the first post, and be a leader if there is an issue on the trail.

If you have an interest in being a trail leader, please post up and let me know. We are getting close and I am getting very excited about everything. Lets make this another great WF Meet n Greet and make a ton more memories.

Jeff
If there is enough interest. Fred1 and I would like to run a small group on both JB and Holcomb. If the interest isn't there we could lead a group on just Holcomb. We led the first group on Beantown's group in May.

I'm interested in Holcomb, but not JB. Maybe Dishpan or another? I'd be fine with just Holcomb too.

Ok, that sounds great to me. Kota and Fred will lead a group through JB to Holcomb. Both of these fine gentlemen are experienced and level headed on the trails. Thank you both for stepping up to the task.

Come on Rick, you have the Sporticon. There is nothing that can stop ya unless you let me put square lights on your rig, lol.

OK, so the trail leaders I have are Kota7x and Fred1 leading JB to Holcomb and BillG.Otd doing just JB. There is another group of members that are doing another trail that requires 35s, lockers, winch and to expect a bit of trail pin striping, but I believe that group is about 12 members and pretty much the max that they want for the trail for what it is. I welcome as many members as wish to join me on Gold Mtn and will take my time on the run. The trail its self is only a couple of miles, but depending in size of group and experience/jeep build can take a bit of time. My goal is to do the run, have fun, and get back to camp around dinner time. If you are not sure about trails or new, please let me know and I will be happy to have you along... OK, so my biggest fear is that I will be the lonely Jeep on the run, haha. Most people on here are quite adapt and have ample experince wheeling. I really enjoy seeing a newbies expression and smile from ear to ear as they realize just how capable thier Jeep is.

If you decide to run Gold Mtn. with me, or any other trails for that matter, I recommend to bring a lunch and Gatorade or water for the trail ride. I would say at least 1 gallon per person of water for the day. Just in case someone has a mishap and we end up on the trail longer than expected. And no worries, we wont leave anyone for coyote bait on the trail. We all come back to camp.

So, if anyone has any questions or concearns, send me a PM and I will help ya out or let me know and I will give you my cell #.

Man, I am so excited about this trip, I am already losing sleep thinking about how much fun it will be.

Jeff

Dude, that's the V-Notch at Last Chance Canyon, taken last January when I led a group through Last Chance Canyon and Nightmare Gulch. You've probably seen pictures Cons_Table and I have posted of our rigs in there. You gotta join us up there one of these days when it gets cool enough to go back to the desert. Last Chance Canyon is lots of fun and Nightmare Gulch is just awesome.

Jeff, I'll lead the Lightening Ridge trail. We have myself
Jpi4.0
Donbadadon
Slowthrills
Jeremy (? Screen name)
John (? Screen name)
Beantown
Coop
I think I'm leaving a couple of guys out, speak up if I didn't include you from the list.
Min 35" tires
Lockers
Winch
Not worried about some pinstriping.
Recovery points F&R
Tow strap
The trail is not the most difficult, but is very diverse.
Rocks, steep climbs, very tight, off caber trails, and some basic fire roads. Very cool trail to do.

Group sizes are sounding kinda big...both trails may make for a long day on the trail.

That is why I would like to start with Holcomb for those that want to do Holcomb. Then make a decision after.

There's one section we had to pull cable last time, I think you'll be ok since your two door.

I had actually thought about setting something up the end of September...we are usually down in the 90s by then, but with it being the end of September it may be cooler or we could wait it out til October

As long as it's not the hottest day of the year in the desert, we'll be better off than the last time you took us out there. I still get a laugh every time I replay in my head the ranger asking me, "Are you SURE you want to camp here this weekend?", when I was the first one to show up at camp.

The trail is not the most difficult, but is very diverse. p
Rocks, steep climbs, very tight, off caber trails, and some basic fire roads. Very cool trail to do.
Stan, ill have to get the 20 of this trail so I can run it. I can't make sat, cause of work, but was planning on doing a run that Sunday with a few. This might be a cool option for me.
