7th Semi Annual So Cal WF Meet n Greet; A Turdhurdler Event

Okay so here is the final trail poll for the M & G in BB! We have 3 trails listed in the poll and a 4th that is already full. Jeff AKA Turdhurdler will be leading a group through Gold Mountain, FRED1 and Kota7x will be doing a John Bill to Holcomb and I BillGotd will be doing John Bull and then ???? TBD. I have a #2 man in Coop and a Mid or tail gunner in Armand, so I still have a position to fill.... These are the trails as per MR Turdhurdler and remember...if you choose not to decide, you still haver made a choice! Its all good and I am looking forward to a great time!! We have about 35-40 Jeeps attending so it should be a great weekend!! This poll will superseed the previous poll and the other will self destruct (if a moderater helps)

If there is room I would like to do the John Bull again. If it is too full I can just cruise along with Jeff and GM. It is all good.

After seeing how many Jeeps are making the JB and Holcomb runs I may just join Jeff and have a relaxing day up there. Lot's of scenery up there that I have been wanting to explore.

Where are those located? And will my stock JK make it up any? If so I would be down depending on how far and when they are.

July 28 is the date. The area is Big Bear so you need to know if that is too far from you as all this information is posted in the 7th Annual M & G thread. Your stock Jeep can run Gold Mountain most likely with some good spotting as will be the case. Come along and try it out.

They are all good, so no worries. There are only 3 in JB so far. I need to change the poll so we can see the names...

I think the poll was posted late last night. People just haven't seen the new poll. That, or they're waiting to see how everyone else voted.

Maybe make it a first come first served? Designate a max number for each run and then say anyone that votes after that will be a new/different run?

I also think that people that voted in the last poll figure they already voted and don't realize there's a new poll...

I just put the new poll up last night with the confirmed trails and leaders. The old poll had quite a few people signed up. We wanted to get a more acurate trail count so we know how many runs we need. We didnt want 20 on one run and 5 on another....It looks like it should end up about 10 per run, but Jeff's run may go over 10.

One of these days we will be able to pull you away from all of your little ducklings so that you can wheel with the big boys

I kid, I kid.

The Holcomb/John Bull run is going to depend on how many people would like to do Holcomb only. If we have say 8 or less very well equipped jeeps and can do Holcomb in less than 3 hours then we could move on to John Bull. If we have more than 10 and varying levels of equipment and driving ability then we run Holcomb only. Kota and I have run Holcomb in 1.5 hours alone and in 5 hours twice with larger groups. Please don't hesitate to sign up for this run as the Holcomb Creek trail is awesome and not to be missed. Holcomb has rock gardens that we pick our way through and is not steep, John Bull has some big rocks and some steep spots.

Maybe have a backup plan. Just figure out how much time you think will be needed to run JB. If we're not done by X time, choose a 2nd trail.

Guess I should have searched. lol Probably won't be able to make it as I work weekends and that isn't enough time to put in for it. Maybe next time and maybe I will have a lift.

Alrighty.. since there is a John Bull & Holcomb run... put me in. we won't be camping so we will meet you at the campsite at 10 AM or before.

Now, where are these campsites? Anyone have coordinates or directions?

I would vote to to do John Bull first, then Holcomb. Would rather go UP the obstacles of JB then down them.

The initial plan for both runs is to hit them both, but one is starting with Holcomb and one with Bull. That way if only one trail is completed due to lack of time it wil be the first one. You definetely want to run Bull east to west..

I have signed up to run the Holcomb Creek/John Bull trails with Fred1 & Kota7x. I'm really hoping we have the time to do both trails. I will be willing to do an earlier start time just for some added (time) insurance. This will be my first time on both trails and I can hardly wait!

They are both great trails. It will depend on how many end up in each run and the equipment and experience. We will take whatever time is needed to get through the trail safely. I do think there will be time to do both, but with that said if someone only wants to do one, that is an option for them. I havent been to Bull in a few months and plan on a pre run the weekend before to check it out.

Mmmmm. Duckling soup.

I do want to run the bigger trails, but till I do my axles and regear, I don't really want to risk the damage that comes with having to play with the clutch so much.

Besides, I really get a kick out of showing newer members what their Jeeps can do in stock or mild modded condition.

Jeff

Hey, Slight update....In Keeping with the Father & son trail leaders we have on Holcomb, Delano (Pluke the 2) and his pop will be leading the John Bull run. Both are very experienced and equipped to handle The Bull....Delano will be posting future updates.

It's pretty much exactly the same as last year.
