Any good trails around Lake Isabella area?

Going to be in vicinity of Lake Isabella July 20 and was looking for some medium level off road trails to take some friends on. Just for a half day trip - they live near the lake, so want to kill about 4 hours or so.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Kurt

Browse By Map

only one's we have done are between Jawbone and Isabella nothing but fire roads.

Freeway ridge is supposed to be nice but have never done it so can't speak to its difficulty.

If you drag the map down you will see Sherman Pass 4x4. Short and easy trail that is up around 8k' feet or so.

If go up into Alta Sierra there is some pretty good stuff up there. Decent fire road starts in Keysville also.

As DaK mentions, I only know of some trails up from Kernville around Sherman Pass and beyond toward Troy Meadows. It is kind of a haul from Isabella though. There is some good wheeling areas and lots of scenery up there.
