Just take the 15 like you're going to Vegas and get off on Afton Rd. There is a decent campground there too!
The first water crossing this past weekend was not deep at all.

The second one next to the RR bridge after you go under it was up to the bottom of a stock Rubicon's bumper. We had no problems traversing either crossing.

The first one used to be a LOT deeper years ago.

They have put rock or gravel there now right? The first time I went they didn't. It was deeper then I think. I wanna go out there and explore. There are also some dunes somewhere between afton and razor.

That's too bad. That's the level it was when I went last fall. I was hoping the rains would have helped out some. Still fun regardless...

We are going head out to the Burro Schmidt Tunnel and maybe a little exploring in red rock or lunch in Randsburg tomorrow April 14th. It will be more of an exploring trip then hard wheeling, since my other buddy with a stock jeep is going. Anyone interested in joining is welcome.

We will probably leave from Valencia around 7am

Cool area. Did it about a month ago. Are you taking Last Chance Canyon up to the tunnel or coming around the smooth way for your buddy?

I'd go along but I just pulled the jeep into the garage to replace worn out leafs.

We will probably be going the easy way. Be more of an exploring trip. My buddy just got some info about another mine we might also check out...

Do you know of any other things to explore up there...??

Too bad ya cant make it...

I have a gift... Easy mechanical things are a monkey/football fiasco for me. Six hours later and the rear leafs are not complete. Everything went fine until it came to re install the shocks. I gave up after two hours.

The area between California Cuty and Randsburgh is great. Also a smooth dirt road that runs on the hillside North of the 14. It is the aqueduct service road. Aqueduct is under ground there. Roads branch off and you can get your Bud some 4X practice.

We just got home. What an awesome day. We drove out to the Burro Schmidt Tunnel, checked out Bickel Camp and a couple other old mining areas. Took a detour down Last Chance Canyon and over to Randsburg for lunch and home.

There are a lot of cool things to see out there...

Spent a couple of days in that area as well. Checked out the tunnel and settlements on day one. Day two came up last chance canyon and followed ep15 all the way out east. Loved the isolation out that way.
