There's usually always a Halloween run at the end of Oct. then Miller closes usually a couple weeks afterwards; so depending on the first snow, sometime in Nov. It won't re-open until usually Memorial Day weekend.

My friends and I go there a lot once it's open and run Yellow Jacket as well; which, if you don't know it, is a pretty cool trail. It's very different from Miller. It's green and lushy with bushes and trees, we've seen wildlife and critters out there, there's a stream running through it, and it's a fun trail. But before we can run Yellow Jacket, we'll be looking for a crew to help clear it so it can be run, b/c the club that's supposed to be maintaining it, does not. Without getting out there and hacking away the bushes and branches, it's impassable in a few spots. And for those of us who run with our tops down, you risk injury lol No kidding. I have scars from last year..

Awesome, you Rock George! We used a machette (sp?) last year and hacked away. It wasn't too bad but a chainsaw would be easier. It's just a few sections of the trail..probably take 30 minutes or so if we had a few people There's actually another trail in the opposite direction that would require more work but it'd be cool to do if we could clear it too

I can't until the IDTT !

I miss Miller. It's not as hardcore as Big Bear or Calico but it's still a blast. We actually camp at the top of Fraizer mountain; about 7500 ft up. There's nothing but huge pine trees and pine cones up there. It's gorgeous. If there's anyone else up there, it's usually only 1 guy, who's been camping up there for years. Everyone else who runs the trails out that way either camp in Hungry Valley or Duchman's camp. My friends and I prefer camping away from others and enjoying the peace and quiet...not to mention the beautiful scenery you can't get anywhere else. Personally, I can't wait!
