yep, cracked open the D35 to see pinion teeth laying on the belly. ARRGGG!

I'm putting out feelers here and there to try to get my hands on another one
that I can slap in while I build up an F8.8. If you got one handy please hit me
up. i'd really appreciate it.

Thanks guys. But, I just had an 8.8 built up for me 2 weeks ago and buttoned it up last saturday. Went very smooth.

When I took the dif cap off the D35 when I had the
problem the oil was really, really, really old.
So, after I put that 8.8 in I decided I better check the front D30.

Well, I drained only about 10oz maybe 14oz of almost
milky looking oil. I'm thinking, "huh, that's weird." So, I
dump in about 3 qrt of new oil and take it for a spin to
the store. Come back and there is a huge pool of oil
pouring out of my passenger side. Well, that explains
the low oil.

So my D30 seal is wasted, and I have to replace it.
I've done a bunch of research on the subject and it
seems rather scary for a novice like myself. I mean,
I can turn a wrench like the next guy, and have done
some mods and installed an entire rear end, but sure
would like a second opinion.

Any of you changed out shafts, fixed seals in a D30 before.
I'd love to get a guy behind my back telling if I'm
doing alright or not. I'll even throw in some cash and
maybe a few cold ones if any ones willing to give me a hand.

I'm in Pasadena CA,91104.

What do you say?
