Anything ever happen in NorCal?

I see a TON of things going on for SoCal, what about up North? Anything ever going on up here?

I am fairly new to this forum myself. I have also noticed a lot of trips being planned in Socal. There are members on here from Norcal. I just haven't seen anything planned as of yet.

Options:
Start your own run
Join a local Jeep (4X4) club
Look at other forums ( a lot of people belong to more than 1 forum)

Winter time is a slow period for wheeling unless you are in to snow wheeling. Both Tahoe and Eldorado NF have winter closures which close most of the trails during winter time.

I'm pretty much new myself and this coming weekend I am heading over 88 to Gardnerville to visit with my grandkids but when I get back on Monday and you want to go somewhere near put up a post and if you want some company I'm up for it. I have been spending a lot of time at Frank Raines ORV and having a good time playing in the mud hole and running the trails. Lots of nice folks there on the weekend and nobody there on the week days. I have been taking my "05" TJ and having a ball. Anyway, like the fireman says, if you plan it we will come.

Keep the old ones rolling too!

I'm retired and live in Tracy. Though my wife and I are moving soon to Nevada, I would like to get together and plan a trip. That is if you don't mind older folks. My TJ is ready to go. I haven't installed lockers yet but she does Ok. I go alone a lot because my friends are boaters and just want to go bass fishing in the delta. Nothing wrong with fishing, I was a tournament fisherman until I started wheeling. Now all I want to do is get one of my Jeeps in the dirt. Anyway, like I said in my last post, plan it and we will come. ( as long as we meet within 60 miles).

Help keep our trails open and clean.

I'm in the same boat, haven't seen much. I'm near Sac, and somewhat a newbie, looking for some experienced drivers to meet up with.

My jeep is sort of not drivable right now, but I'd be down for a meet and great, or some trail runs once my jeep is back together. I live in Vallejo right now, any one close to that area? If there are people north and south of here that want to drive, I'd be down to host a little meet and great at my spot sometime, or we have a little dirt area here in town that we go and play at sometimes. Its nothing special, but good for a few hours of fun in the mud.

There's a few of us in NorCal, we probably need to be more proactive. For wheeling AND wrench help/tag alongs. Post when you want to go and I'm sure a lot would love to tag along!

I am in bay area and would love to go out wheeling when my jeep is ready. Waiting to get the rear axle overhauled (regeared with locker). I am down to go to Pismo, Hollister, carnegie ... Anything that is worth driving for!

Hey guys I live in the Placerville area, work in Sac. Starting in the spring I run Deer Valley, Slick Rock and some others. I try going out every other weekend, normally alone due to friends without Jeeps. Deer Valley Trail is a great beginners trail. If you guys want we could do a meet and greet, just message me I have a great list of Norcal trails that will not damage your Jeep and still have a slow go at it.

Sounds fun. Is deer valley easy enough for stock jeeps?

I take my boys youth group out a couple of times a year If you would be interrested in that I will try to get you in the group, I am going to try to put together an easy run for stock jeeps this spring for a couple others that could not run Deer Valley with us last year.

There is a deep water crossing... I would say no it gets really rocky. However I am going to make some runs for stock...

Awesome guys. I'm looking forward to seeing things pick up here for the NorCal folks. I know there are lots of Jeepers up there, and you have some awesome sounding trails that I'd want to hit someday but just tough for me because of the distance. I've only run Slickrock, and planning to run the Con this summer.

Actually come to think of it, my avatar picture was taken on the Slickrock trail.

ok, so I really want to try and plan a meet and greet/trail ride. So, let's all check in with where we live and how far we'd be willing to drive for a day event. I figure morning meet up (0900), and then trail ride. I'll start: I live in Vallejo, and would be willing to drive around 2 to 2-1/2 hours for a full day event.
also, I don't know many trails in the area, besides Prairie City OHV, so if you have a trail you like suggest it, and if you'd be willing to be a trail leader if you know the trails pretty well.
Hopefully this can work.

I'm busy this coming weekend, but usually any weekend works for me. Saturdays are better then Sunday.

I live near sacramento and would be willing to go two hours. I don't want to go until I get atleast two new tires (hopefully this weekend). I don't know many trails and I'm stock so I'm not going to be leading.
