Oh, and Silent, there is this new thing they invented.... it's called punctuation .

I'm good with it, invite the ORW guys along. I think anything less than ten or so is manageable up there, especially if the majority are experienced wheelers. Everyone just has to understand that the more people we have, the longer it will take to get through the obstacles.

Next week we should start to firm things up a little more so we know who for sure is going and decide on a meeting place.

I did get the tentative OK from the wife. But I am also still waiting on my Medic skids. Would MUCH rather have those in and on before my next trip.

Oh come on, skids are highly over-rated! It's all about wheel placement!

It's not just the lack of skids. But I have the MML on there already ready for the skids. So I can't get it to stay in 4-Lo and I am too damn lazy to adjust the t-case linkage now and then again once the skids are in!

Otherwise - the stock skids are there for me to mangle!

I tell ya, I would LOVE to go on this trip with you all if I can work it out.

Mog,

I'm so sorry for your loss. My Dad passed away last summer, so I understand a little about what you are going through. Things don't really get any easier with time, they just get different.

I hope you can make it with us on the 21'st. It would be good for you to get out with a bunch of friends (or friendly strangers, depending on how you look at the forum) and have a good time.

Take care of yourself and your family.

Aww dang MOG, I'm so very sorry. Take care of yourself and don't worry about the 21st. If you can make, great, but if you can't there will be other trips.

Thank you for all the kind words. Hope this didn't / doesn't hijack the thread too much. My dad was 77, and for about the last 3 years of his life he had only about 30% of his heart left operating. For the past 2 years he's been bed-bound and unable to take care of himself. The past 6 months he was miserable, not in pain, just miserable laying there. Didn't even have the strength to talk. The family is at peace now, because we know he's at peace. Again, thanks for all the kind words, thoughts & prayers.

Now get on that trail and ride ! .......

Hope you're feeling better MOG and I wish you were coming with us.

So, think it's time to start working out the meeting place and time, who's absolutely coming and trade cell numbers and anything else anyone can think of.

Brian, you going to let me follow you up there cuz I've never been past the 10 except when I moved here 8 years ago.

Yesterday the very kind UPS man delivered two big boxes marked Jeep Medic. So Chuck and I installed those and I am all good to go. I am going to go up the night before and meet you guys in the morning.

As far as meeting spots - two easy places are either the Vons (I think at least) parking lot (Big Bear Blvd just west of Stanfield Cutoff) or the Arco on Big Bear Blvd and Stanfield Cutoff.

Eric

Well I'm definately out of this run. I'm signed up with the kids for Space Science Day at El Camino College. The wife signed us up and said there's no backing out now. The kids had a blast last year, so I wouldn't let 'em down. Hope you guys have fun, and take pictures !!

MOG- I just checked this thread and, even though late, would like to offer my condolences as well. We lost my stepdad last year and it hits hard.

Like you said, your dad's in a better place and at peace. Take care of you and yours and you'll get by.

Chad

I agree, it's time to firm things up.

Meeting time: Is everyone good with 8:30?

Meeting place: Since most of us are coming up the hill on Saturday morning, I'd like to avoid driving into Big Bear and then back around the lake to Fawnskin where the trail head is. How about we meet in front of the park in Fawnskin?

Tiny, you can follow me up. For everyone else not familure with the area, (in my opinion) the best route to get up there is: 215N to 30E to 330 to 18. Go north at the damn on 38 into Fawnskin. You guys up in Big Bear would probably know the best way better than I do.
