Great! Can't wait to hear all about it at Big Bear (which can't get here soon enough). Rubicon is definitely on the bucket list.

That is SO awesome you guys got to do the Rubicon!!! That would be so cool to do, maybe I'll get enough time off to do that in the next year or two. Glad you guys did it and had fun, how cool!

Rubicon Trail

I was also on the Rubicon Trail 6/9 to 6/13. What a great adventure. Started at Wentworth Springs, camped At Rubicon Springs ($10 per rig ) up Caddy to Tahoe, refueled at Tahoe City, and back thru the trail in reverse camping along the way. Had Bears raid our camp at Buck Island, gave me quite a scare. Went out via Loon Lake. Went with 7 rigs, I had 33's everyone else were on 35's & 37's. Make it with no problems, aired down to 10psi no bead loks on Toyo 33-12.50x 15"s (15x8 eagle alloys). It's a way cool fun trail. Put it on your bucket list.

Rubicon Trail

The bears came into camp at Buck Island around 11pm, had hit the sack, and heard coolers crashing around. Then all was quite for awhile, I had to take a leak, so got up shined the flashlight around all good, went back to the sack. About 10min later I heard the crushing of granite coming up the slab to my tent, my heart was pounding and I quit breathing, the tent started shaking as he brushed against it. I thought I was done. Quess he spotted my jeep with a cooler carry bag on the front seat (tube doors, bikini top) Had apples, cookies, snacks, etc in it, well he took the whole cooler and split. Better it than me. Found the cooler in the mornig about 200yds frond camp destroyed. Next time I will hoist the food up into tree branches. (lesson learned.) As for the trail, it is much harder running it in reverse from the Tahoe side. But it was a great trip.

The guy I bought my jeep from yesterday broke the left rear axle on Cadillac Hill last week. He drove it out to the trail head and got it towed to a shop down here.
