Beach Riding

is there any place in socal where you can take your jeep on the beach and ride around? do you need a permit? any locations where it would be possible? thanks!

Oceano dunes aka pismo is the only place i know of where you can legally do it. There is a fee but not too bad. You can also camp on the sand.

I think the fee is only $5 per day and a little more if you plan on camping. They are a little strict there on rules so make sure to look those over before going.

They've had to get strict on the rules due to how popular it's become down here. It's actually a good thing since we get quite a few idiots that can ruin it for everyone.

Whenever there is an accident or death all the tree huggers have more ammo to try and shut down the dunes. There is a constant effort by a local group to shut it down.

You can still have an great time and enjoy yourself here, it's the only beach in Calif. that you can drive on
