Talking Berdoo Canyon, Old Dale Road

I'm taking some old High School Friends, on a "Pucker Run". Anyone can join us. I expect to be at the Pilot Truckstop/Fuel Station (off Interstate 10) by 10:30a.m. Saturday 5/18/13. I'll be on CB channel 12. Lunch at the Old Dale mine. If we don't meet up before Berdoo Canyon, I'll see you on the trail...

There are some great places to have fun on that road. I'll be with Mom for Mother's Day... Have fun!

People get stuck on the pavement all of the time, there...

Steep climbs

The only thing that can go really wrong is if you back off of the asphalt and get high-centered and don't have a hi-lift jack, or don't stack rocks to get yourself out. I went through this road at dusk and a guy with his wife and her friend were stuck for about 1 hour and it was getting cold outside, and the driver was thinking about walking out to get help. He saw me driving down Berdoo Cyn. with 15 Jeeps and waved us down. We had the guy winched out in about 3 minutes.

Oh! Duh! I see you are going this Saturday (not yesterday). I would like to go, but I am having suspension issues (thanks to my Baja run last month). Maybe, I can fix the Jeep in time...
