I just learned last evening that my son has yet another soccer try out, the final one supposedly, Saturday morning at 9:30. I was going to blow it out but after talking to the coach I get the feeling if he does not show it is just a good reason to thin the already too big of a herd. I told his coach we have had this planned for a long time and he just shrugged his shoulders and said sports is a commitment. I told him I understand all that but this was some last minute decision made by soccer coaches to have another "last" tryout and it kind of pissed me off with his attitude. I was really looking forward to running the Holcomb trail with some new people but hopefully there will be another time.

Looks like most everyone posting here is coming from LA/Riverside/etc, if anyone is going from San Diego I plan to depart downtown at about 6am. Will be monitoring CB channel 19 (unless the chatter gets annoying, then 16 or nothing) and have a 2M/440 radio as well, probably repeater hopping as I reach the range of various ones along the way unless someone suggests a simplex for the drive.

73s,
K6JPE (Merlin on the CB)

Im about a mile outside the main drag. I have already scraped the snow off of the soft top twice (both were about 3 inches deep)

Unfortunately, I'm not going to make it after all. I woke up last night with the stomach flu (will leave it at that).

I was really looking forward to this because my Jeep is now about 4 weeks old and have only gone off road once so far.

Hopefully there will be another beginner run in the next month or so. Looking forward to meeting some of you and seeing your Jeeps.

I did so too. I was the stock bright silver JKU with the all terrian tires... Just one of two without mud or snow tires. Did you go on after lunch or turn around? If you continued on I think we spoke right before you went up the hill. If it was you, you may have asked me about the hill as we watched a badge stock rubi struggle up it.

The beginners did some of white mountain, but had stop in the middle because snow conditions made the trail too difficult. Then we did another one but I'm not sure what it was. And the intermediate group did the holcomb trail. It was a lot of fun.

I've got a few pics and some video but they all still reside in my camera, if I have time at the office today I'll try to pull them out and put something together, it was so cold that my co-driver didn't want to be outside to gather footage so there's not very much of it this run lol.
