Big Bear Forest Fest

I was just wondering who all is going and what trails your signed up for. Mike and I are planning on going, we will probably be up there anyhow. We will more than likely do this run in my JKU.

I signed up only doing a Saturday run that week end and just hanging out and drinking beer the rest of time but im on list for Holcomb. Checking trail assignments today looks like starting to fill only a few names last week.

I went ahead and signed up for Holcomb, I figure it's a donation if we end up not running and it gets us on the list if we do

Bill, I'll keep you posted on our plans and maybe some type of get together.

Yeah Lisa, Keep me posted.

Its definitely a good cause...They still aren't sure if they will be allowed on Holcomb and they cant have an "Official run" on Matino because its BLM land. They may have to use your second choice...

We are thinking of John Bull Friday afternoon followed by the evening spooky run. Sat I want to do Holcomb Creek, and if that falls through, Gold Mtn (again).

I hope JB isnt too much for a 2 1/2 lift on 35's....I don't want to wrinkle the sheet metal.

My buddy Dave did it on a 2.5 OME and 35's. Not a problem. But he did use his armor.

You can laugh and make fun of me, but I didn't sign up for John Bull because I'm pretty sure we will be in the Pumpkin. There's a chance we will have passengers and we can't take anyone in the TJ.

Last year I took the RV up to FF and did the camping thing and did one run on Saturday. We had a great time. But I'm not going to be able to camp this year. I would like to take the jeep out that Saturday. Although, I don’t want to do a Big Bear run with a group of 20 jeeps (to slow for me). I know, Forest Fest is for a GREAT cause. No one said I can’t make a donation and do my own run (just as long as I pick a trail they will not be on)J I have two ideas kicking around in my head:
1. Run Pontiac Sluice and Mattino Wash. Then drive to Snow Summit to check out the vendors. Next hit a Mexican restaurant for dinner and Margarita's.
2. Run Johnson Valley. On the drive home, hit this great Mexican restaurant (that we found) for dinner and Margarita's.

I most likely will not post this run as I don’t want a 30 jeep run. But if you are interested in joining me, let me know. Based on the response, I can put something together. Most likely, you will need 33+, a locker, and protection for whatever you value. Oh, and if you have any route ideas, let’s hear them…

Dan,

Sounds like the common theme is Margarita's ...I LIKE IT !! LOL but Im commited to BBFF at Snow Valley had great time last year, the big groups do not bother me as it's part of the fun. but I look forward to a run with you next time.

I can go either way on attending or not, I have been the past 2 years and had a good time (although the raffle is killing me ) If I don't join the event, I would still like to be in the area and stop by and see those that do attend and the see the vendors....Hopefully someone will also have a house in the area by then So I guess I would vote the Mattino option....

All I see is: Mexican food and Margaritas, haha.

One way or another we will be up there (actually down there) I wish I had a firm plan as I have some OCD about last minute things, but I will keep this thread updated on our camping or non camping status, and what exactly we will do for a run

Welcome Bigfoot, go to the site and check out the trail descriptions. I don't see what rig you have or mods to it, so you have to go by what you know you have.

I'm in...I'd like to do mattino it has some nice extra credit lines and no real crowd of kept on the down low....
Whites pass hill climbs are worth it and stagger john bull to holcomb not in the groups...both are 30,40 minute tails....(with 2-3 built rigs)....
Don't want to do the mass groups too much time sitting....but register for support.
