Big Bear Holcomb Creek Trail 12/8

Anyone up for hitting up Holcomb Creek Trail Saturday and some cold weather camping at holcomb valley camp?

Holcomb is rated a black diamond by the charles wells book, not recommended for stock vehicles. Lockers, high ground clearance and undercarriage protection recommended. although I've seen jeep though with out lockers.

I should be able to make it. At least for a day trip... Too many cold nights on the ground from my army days haha. I'm in the Temecula area. What time are you thinking of meeting and where?

probably at the trail head 10 am 3N93 and 3N14 just past hanna flat camp, or maybe in fawnskin at 930? have you been on the trail and know where it is? Let's see who else wants to go and can finalize a meeting spot.

I got to do Holcomb creek last month. It was a blast. The rock gardens do have some easier lines In there with the harder ones.

Holcomb creek is a really fun run especially when u start from the east & circle back around and do lower Largo then back onto Holcomb creek...just get started early ...it tends to get very busy ....like the 5fwy during rush hour..lol

no worries bill are you wheeling calico?

Turd and I are going to camp tomorrow (friday) night and wheel early Saturday so turd can get home not so late Saturday. we don't have a set time but if anyone would like to join us I would say meet us at holcomb valley camp by 8am saturday, in case we decide to change trails. i will be leaving for big bear at noon tomorrow.

Yeah, we are. It wasn't a run from the forum so I didn't post anything about it.

You should have some great weather on the mountain...catch you next time!

I had plans to wheel on Sunday and had a friend back out so I'm in the same boat. I was planning on exploring the heartbreak ridge onyx point area off the 38. Already have plans for Sat but would be in for Sun.

I feel bad. Our offer is still up if interested. Weather should be a little bit warmer there.

Let me know if you're up for anything next weekend on the 15th. I'd do anything except Cleghorn (just did it twice in a row).

Yeah, I might join in on that run. Trying to talk my wife into going and bringing the kids. If she doesn't want to go, I may try to get something else together.
