Jacoby is supposedly pretty mild, near where Gold Mountain ends. Scenic and more of a relaxing drive.

Yeah, I've been there a few times in the last month or so and your Jeep is always sitting on the rack looking lonely!

I think Stan wants to keep it there so when people come in with theirs, they can look at yours and feel less manly, then order more upgrades...

That's funny Rick, it's mostly been there waiting on parts to be built. Good parts aren't usually on anyone's shelf. Mines next!

Yes sir! Rokmen had a little issue on their end, but assured me it's on it's way for this week.

I may not be responding much tomorrow. Should be able to respond a little bit from work, but after 5:00 I'll probably be busy packing and getting ready. I'll be in Big Bear Friday night, not sure if I'll have phone service.

I'll be in the Black lifted 2012 JKU with no top, possibly no doors. I'll also have a home made shade cloth top on that will hopefully last the whole day.

My phone number: 909 52 0 53 15
Feel free to call me if you're running late.

Please re-read the first post! CB Channel 27, be at the Discovery center at 9:00 AM! Plan is to leave before 9:30 and head to the trail head.

I attached a Big Bear map I found on Dirtopia. Gold Mountain is 3N69, 3N69A. Jacoby is 3N61. John Bull is 3N10.

See: Big Bear - Dirtopia, the Off-Road Encyclopedia

Looking forward to meeting you all!!

Big thanks to Suicideking for setting this up. We had a great time, met a bunch of cool people, and made it through without a tug!

Thanks for coming out Dave! I had a lot of fun too. Jacoby was a nice relaxing trail, definitely a quick one.

I'm curious how the John Bull group did. I'll have to check on MJR. By the time Renato got done encouraging people to do JB, it was just myself and Randog doing Jacoby.

I'm sure I'll do JB eventually, but just not at my comfort level right now.

We had a very exciting afternoon working on our stupid rental house instead of running Jacoby. Maybe next time...

Yeah, you didn't miss much. It was very short and very easy. I know you're not supposed to run trails alone, but this is one of the few that I would actually consider running by myself.

There were a few mildly difficult sections, but for the most part, any stock 4x4 could handle it.

Thanks for setting this up Rick. By the time we were ready to start JB, it was after 5pm, and with a 3+ hour drive home, I skipped it this time. I'm pretty sure most everyone else did it though. The attached link has some pictures from Gold Mountain.

Thanks for posting pics! I'll probably get mine posted Monday when I get home.

They weren't ready to start until 5:00 PM??? Holy crap! Glad I left for Jacoby. I think we were done around 5:00 PM! I wanted to see game 7 (NBA), and figured JB might make me miss most of the game.

I think we left you guys around 3:30? What took so long to get started? Thought you guys were starting right then.

Bent tie rod on one of the Jeeps going up on the first attempt. After a collaboration of ideas, the group was able to get it bent back and from what I understand, he was going to charge up again.

Hey Renato!

I don't know what they're getting so excited about on MJR. I understand your buggy isn't street legal, but it seems that it would leave less of a footprint than a giant hummer or some of the other street legal vehicles (like my JKU). I assume it weighs less. It doesn't seem to have have as many parts that would grind up the trail. Plus, I think you mentioned it's a 4 cyl? If so, it even uses less gas.

I'm always interested in different vehicles. I know people bash the toyotas and other stuff, just nice to see something different on the trails.

Thanks brotha, trust me I've never in my 15 years of wheeling have had such a problem with this but I understand why, There are a lot of people that give us wheelers a bad name and to b honest I think they were "at first" judging a book by it's cover, but we straighten it out, it's funny u say that about those hummers cause I was thinking the same thing, with as bad as John bull has gotten they should just make ohv cause your right! My buggy is designed to be light! I pose way less of a threat to that trail then a stock vehicle tearing the trail up stacking rocks around and god knows what else, anyways I appreciate the support brotha, I don't try and cause drama, life is too short!
