I'm interested, but I'm worried that Gold Mountain might be out of my league. I should have a lift put on by then, but I've only been wheeling for a few months. Would it be a bad idea for me to try it?

There are no bad ideas, just bad lines
I've never done Gold Mtn either but it can't be any worse than John Bull. The best investment is rock sliders. We're all a team up there so we'll work together to make sure we all make it through.

I haven't done it either, but am under the impression that it's one of the easier Big Bear runs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm also somewhat new, have been wheeling since October and have under 10 runs that I've done so far. I have done Holcomb in Big Bear, Odessa and Doran in Calico. From what I have read, all 3 of those are harder than Gold Mountain. Plus, I'm getting a Rubi D44 installed this month so will have a front locker.

So far this is already shaping up nicely, I have 3 people from MJR that said they will be going.

List so far:

Suicideking
949OC
SkylarM (MJR)
Gary (MJR)
BlackORifle (MJR)

Hmmmm, son graduating from college or a BB run?

Man, decisions, decisions....

There is a rock garden on Gold Mountain that ya need to pay attention on but other than that... easy run.

That will be on my 'someday' list. For now, Holcomb and Calico are the max difficulty for me until I develop my skills a bit.

Take some good videos!

Wish I could afford the fuel for another BB trip, but have plans for fathers day weekend up there with some friends from San Diego.
Catch you on another run. Have fun.

Yeah, next time! Gas prices are definitely effecting how often I go too.

Are you doing Big Bear fest on fathers day weekend?

It looks like a lot of people already signed up, but I have a friend with a pretty sweet TJ that is interested in coming as well. So hopefully it will be ok to add a +1.

Yes, definitely!

Depending on the final numbers, we may end up splitting up into two groups.

The plan is to meet at the Discovery center at 9:00 AM, then head to Gold Mountain. Then we're going to do Jacoby. Since it's a large group, some may do John Bull instead of Jacoby. I'm doing Jacoby.

Maybe next time!

Should be lots of Big Bear action this summer. Lots of trails up there.

Not part of the fest, this is an annual run they do for fathers day and they were unaware of the fest going on the same weekend. I am sure we will run into some of the traffic though, so we may have a small part of the fest. Lol

Ok, cool!

I'm going to do Jacoby instead of JB. Looks like we may split into two groups though: One that will run Gold Mtn and Jacoby, another will do Gold Mtn and JB.

Just for the record...I talked to Rick this morning and since he had such a large group already, we agreed that I would start another run! Didnt want anyone to think I was a "Run Robber"

Cool D. As Bill said, I encouraged him to post his run.

I'd like to go as a passenger to Dishpan and JB sometime to check them out.

No problem. You always got an opening in my passenger seat.

Already done JB so I guess I'll do Gold Mtn and Jacoby since I've never done those (never even heard of Jacoby so either I've never been on it or was on it and didn't know - done that alot).
