With your set up you will be fine. if you want, myself or Justin ( mJUSTINm) could spot. its always good practice to have a spotter anyway. As long as you take your time, with your rig you will conquer those trails like a champ.

As long as we have a spotter that knows how, than I am not too worried. I've been out to Corral Cyn with a great group and I enjoyed the runs out there. The jeep impressed the hell out of me with what it can do.

Hi guys...I would definitely be down to try and make the trip on the 21st...I'll have to be a maybe as it's a 4 hr + drive for me and I need to get some work done on the jeep before hand.

Just a note - I spent a week Big Bear trails in December with my ex's FJ Cruiser...we went to the beginning of John Bull and turned right around. Took an escape route that divides the trail in half and went down the last portion...almost didn't get through it. So I'm a little leery of trying that trail again after that experience, but the FJ is a much wider cumbersome trail vehicle than the jeep.

Also given the amount of scraped off metal and parts laying around a lot of the trails...I'm thinking I need some under armor...any suggestions?

There are plenty of trails to choose from in Big Bear, something for everyone.
As for under armor check out UCF ( undercover fab works), if you have a tj check out savvyoffroad, savvy is a great company and they put a lot into their products. I have their front bumper. Their armor is made of 6061 t6 aircraft aluminum. Super light and super strong. I'm looking into their skid for my tj.

cool hope you can make it. i don't think we are going to john bull, but probably some of the other moderate-difficult trails. john bull is the hardest up there. we are going to do that on another trip that is being planned on here end of july-aug, WF meet and greet 5

ill put you as maybe

I may go, depending on trails in relation to my stock Rubi. What's the plan for trails?

Oh, and if I do go, then I will bring my son and possibly my wife as well.

With your rig you should be fine on most of the trails. Since you have no lift you will just have to pick your lines carefully. As for plans I think once everyone meets up there will probably break up into groups if enough people go. And choose trails depending on rig set ups. Jacoby canyon is a easy trail, most of the talk has been about dishpan. But there is also gold mtn. and white mtn.

Stock Rubi?....stock Rubi? What's stock about a Rubi? Isn't that an Oxymoron?

I guess yer right... It's just that I have that darned shovel down on my belly, and I have only 8.5" of clearance, Clarence.

Will I be able to the John Bull trail? I guess put me down as going for sure; the only thing I don't know right now is whether my family will go with me or not.

I dont think they are doing the john bull run on this trip. Last time I was there, I wasnt able to get through the gate keeper on 32s, 2.5 inch lift, open diffs. But things may have changed since then.

Well, you know I had to tease a little bit. Based on how the trail faired in the rains and snow which changes the conditions of the trail bunches. Stock height is a bumby ride with lots of scratches on the bottom side. Originally the trail was designed for 3'' lift and 33's. If you dont mind a challenge and getting beat up on the under-carriage and axle tubes it will be good. Me, I would recommend a lift of some kind, even a budget boost would make a world of difference. My two cents.
