Same thoughts here, great run today! I was so impressed with Rhonda and her TJ, we never had to wait for her, and she tackled all the rock gardens like she does it daily! Fantastic day! Nice meeting new friends, thanks for the good times!
Thanks Gunner and Stan for all the nice words I really owe credit to my misfits for my training in Johnson Valley. And jake for his encouragement. And passenger seat spotting lol he made sure I new how close all the cliffs were to his side of the jeep lol

Loving life one jeep trip at a time.
I'd like to extend one more HUGE thank you to everyone who participated in the 1st Veterans Jeep Rally, and an even bigger thank you to those of you who donated. You all are awesome and it was you who truly made this event a success! I think the overall count was 32 rigs for Saturday's run up Heartbreak Ridge, here are the few photos we were able to get from the front:
And the Young Marine in front of me named Joel? Sorry bad on names. Bone stock, brand new JKU auto, first trail ride ever and he nailed it. Flexed his way and climbed the rocks like a pro. What a ball we had. Looking forward to next time.
Gunner, thanks a lot for your help, as well as Joe who was in front of me. You guys were great, wouldn't have made it without you! It was an amazing trip and experience, I can't wait to go again! Semper Fi brother
It was great meeting all the other great people as well, you made me, my wife, and sister feel like family
Everyone really did do awesome and I can't wait to do this again!! There were only a few issues that I know of in my group: We had a broken steering stabilizer out of the blue, a broken clutch pin (awesome 5 minute trail fix btw), and a F350 that took a little beating. I managed to go down the wrong road a couple times (I blame poorly marked trails ), and almost missed a turn because a crazy dirt biker from the 70's was driving down our line yelling profanities at every rig in our group. But... we took 32 rigs through a black diamond trail that was 30 miles from camp to camp in under 6 hours. Awesome day!!!
I'm glad especially that we were able to leave people who hit the trails for the first time with a good impression and a new addiction. Not to mention some new forum avatars! Thank you for coming out everyone, I'm humbled by your support!
A huge thank you too everyone that showed up for this great run. The tally as of right now is $1180 raised for the Wounded Warrior Project. Out-freakin-standing everyone! There are no words to describe how great it feels to see all of us come together like this and support a great cause. Never underestimate the generosity and support of 4 wheelers! It is limitless! It makes me very proud to say that I am friends with all of you. Again thank you!
As far as the run, it was epic!32 rigs lined up on Hwy 38 was a sight to behold! The weather was perfect, the people were in great spirits and it really made for a great day.
I'll be contacting those that weren't able to attend the raffle that won prizes (there were a few) shortly.
Thanks Aaron and Joe for putting together such a awesome event and to everyone else that was out there for making it such a fun trip. I'm glad i was able to come out and wheel with you all! Looking forward to the next big event can't wait. My buddy that was riding with me took a buch of pictures so as soon as he gets them to me i'll try to post some up here.
Had a great time thanks everyone. I made it down the hill ok. Only had the death wobble twice. It was a Little nerve racking but I new what to expect so it was bad at all. Thanks Crittert and Joebot it was first class.
Thanks to Aaron and Joe for this fantastic event. I've been to that memorial at Heartbreak Ridge at least 15 times, but going up there with guys that actually took that memorial to heart, and knows what serving our fine country is all about, got me kinda choked up. Thanks to all our men and women that make our country what it is!
Great run!! I lost a tire, Sam aka "bronco dummy" got a little rocker damage. Watched Dak teach his rear bumper a lesson on a rock and got some of the best most soothing spotting/coaching from Chuck. Run was challenging and my jeep got to perform its ballet maneuver for a crowd, and it didn't rain all day!!
Thanks guys for putting this on, the potluck was a great time and joe, that was some of the best fruit I've had in a long time and very refreshing. We will be needing to do this soon with even more honey jack and fireball, for those of you camping by us sorry, lol.
