Was that the sliver one with no top and red jerry cans? I so it belongs to my former Commander and he is PCSing and leaves the 2nd. He really wanted to join us.

Locked it down to what I'm bringing for the potluck ... seems like we will have main dishes covered ... so we are going to bring Fresh Salad, Veggies, and Fruit

Check out this thread if you haven't yet. There was a group that ran Hearthbreak last weekend and posted good pics of the last (and hardest) obstacle. Gonna be a good day!

Hey Joe, yeah that is the section I was telling you about Its a downhill in that direction, but still takes some decent height and articulation. I pulled my right rear tire off the ground and my Jeep has real good flex. I don't know what type of Rigs are doing the run, but I know Bobs rig is no problem with it, but stockers may be a little rough.

You don't have to run it if you go back to the trail the same way you came in...

Okay guys and gals. I've been doing some follow up with some of the non-forum members that expressed interest in coming.

The XO from the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Assocation said that he already has 1 member from his group camping with us, with another 3 to 7 rigs coming. They will be participating in the pot luck as well. With the CVMA commiting we are now over 30 rigs, and potentially pushing 40!

The guys that ran Heartbreak last weekend had 15 rigs and were able to keep it moving at a fairly good pace, so I don't think we will run into a problem with double that amount.

This is already turning out to be an awesome weekend and I wanna thank Aaron for organizing this! With such a promising turnout, Aaron and I were talking about making a Group on the Facebook and turning this event into a semi-annual event happening in May and November (Memorial and Veteran's Days). I'll post the Facebook Group by the end of the day, and I would encourage every to join it. We wanted to expand this to more than just forum members, Jeep owners and veterans.

BTW, for November I'm throwing my vote in for the Mojave Road!

Thanks Bill! I figured that is the area you were talking about. I spent a good hour or so last night looking at all the pictures you guys posted, studying each angle. I think I saw a good line for stockers to run, but I do expect to get banged up a bit. I don't think we have many stockers in our group, but I'll run it before the other stockers to figure out the line.

Did you guys run the loop clockwise by turning left up the hill first?

We ran both Heartbreak and Pontiac Counter clockwise and after we got back on 2n02 we ran 2n70 which is a real fun little off shoot that comes back onto 2n02...

Yeah Good reason to get together. Hope this brings in some good dough for WW. Maybe we can get some of the guys from the VA to come. I'll talk to the guys there tonight.

Bob, that is a great idea! I've read of organizations that actually take the wounded warriors out 4-wheeling, that would be an ultimate goal with these kind of things!

Also, more follow up for non-forum guys. We have Abe coming out for camping and Saturday's run. He will also be bringing some guests! Definitely pushing 40 rigs now!!!

ALCON,

We have had an enormous amount of support and I would like to thank everyone who is participating. This has opened our eyes up to the possibility of follow-on events, so we decided to start a facebook page and members group to help us organize future events! Not to take away from the forum, but we've run into some tough spots when reaching out to non-forum members and sponsors, so externalizing this event seemed necessary.

I would encourage everyone who is participating in this event to join the group and like our page, so that we can get the word out for the next event! This will also be a good place to post photos after this weekend, as I know space can be limited on the forum. It would also be good leverage against future sponsors!

Thanks again everyone and I look forward to seeing all of you this weekend!

It's too short of notice for them. But I have access to the guy who does the public relations for the hospital. With a nice long lead time I would bet if we did a door to door we could do just that. Especially under the WW umbrella.

I am really liking the idea of this! Taking WW out wheeling! I'll talk to WW and see what I have to do to get this approved.

That's too bad, thanks for looking into that Bob!

We are going to try to do this again in November, so that should be plenty of time. I think we can get plenty of open seats to bring them along! That would seriously make my year!

That is kind of the reason behind the idea for the facebook page, to reach out beyond the forum. When I PCS I'm going to try to expand this idea also. Maybe a Texas chapter will be in order next year!

In the meantime I am going to track down where I read about the guys bringing wounded warriors out four wheeling, and contact them. See how they do it. I found them cuz I saw a picture of this amazing CJ that was painted like an A-10.

*EDIT - FOUND IT!*

You'll definitely want to be there before 10. Probably around 9 if possible, we will be taking donations and handing out the raffle tickets before the run, and plan on leaving camp for the trails at 10.

I talked to Hazel to try to get one of them to actually come out and run with us, but it wasn't enough warning. So he had it put on their website and facebook page instead... I'll take it!

Where are the meet locations for Saturday and Sunday?

I'm back in town and ready to wheel and would like to join in on the fun at least one of the days.
