OPEN TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO SHOW THEIR SUPPORT FOR THE MILITARY!

Well, we have been talking about doing a Veteran support run for a while now, and it's finally here!!

----Raffle tickets are $20 (If you donated through the website we will ensure you get the appropriate amount of Raffle tickets at the event)

----Raffle Prizes so far----
1) 25% off gift certificate from ARB
2) Genright hood louvers
3) GenRight LED Marker lights

Situation: This run will be in support of the Wounded Warrior Project. All proceeds will go directly to them. I am in the process of making this an official charity run with them as we speak. I think it costs $100 and you get all kinds of cool swag. Anyway, my plan is invite anyone that wants to come out and support a good cause and do some wheelin' while there at it. No minimum donations. They're all good!

Mission: To raise money for a great cause and show our support for all veterans past and present.

Execution: Wrangler Forum members will gather at Hanna Flats Campground San Bernardino National Forest - Hanna Flat Campground on 3-5 May. Be advised, the campground is still closed for the season but will reopen on 26 April for reservations. There are 87 sites and 18 first-come fist-serve sites there, so there should be plenty of room.

There will be a run to Pontiac Sluice/Heartbreak Ridge to pay respect to a fallen Marine that was KIA in Iraq in 2004 by the name of Major Rowe. He was also a wheeler with So-Cal Broncos.

The other runs I'll leave up to all of you.

Service and Support: I am going to solicit a few local companies for donations so we can make this a raffle event. If anyone else wants to help that would be great. I'll keep everyone posted of any donations I recieve. I know SPOD, Safari Straps and a few other manufacturers are close by so hopefully we'll have some cool toys.

Command and Control: We will be on CB Channel 12.

Annexes: This is the first event that I have ever organized like this, so your suggestions and help is highly encouraged and appreciated.

Of course, standard trail rules apply:

1) No drinking on the trail!
2) First Aid kit and fire extinguisher
3) Recovery points front and rear.
4) A spare tire within 2" of the size of tire on your rig.
6) A/T tires

LET'S DO THIS!!:Thanx:

Nice OPORD ... I expect all changes to be posted as a FRAGO

I'm in for the Pontiac Sluice run. Is it going to be on the 4th?

If everyone is okay with it ... I'm going to invite non-forum Jeepers/Off-Roaders here on Fort Irwin to participate. I think we can get a pretty good turn out from Fort Irwin, we are pretty good at taking care of our own.

Bring em! :punk:

Not to be an ass but.....
1) Situation: number of wheelers, number of sponsors involved
2) mission: to raise money in support of the wounded warrior fund in the vicinity of Big Bear
3) execution: WF members will conduct trail run operations through heartbreak Ridge, John Bull trail, And Holcomb Creek Trail
4) Sustainment (service and support is no longer used): All the different campground locations, facilities, and the like
5) Command and Control: this would be your CB channel, Trail leaders, Tail Gunners, Points of contact to donate, point of contacts to reserve camping spots, Requirements for rigs.

Again not to be an ass I just get a eye twitch when I see a screwed up OpOrder.... However I will be willing to donate when the time comes, I know I will be in the field during this time.

Thanks to Scott (Kaisertod) for letting me use this pic. This is the flyer that is going out via MWR and other local social media to Ft Irwin wheelers. Gonna print some out and stick them in windshield wipers too.

People who respond get the rundown and a link to this thread. In addition I'm building a mailing list so I can keep track of the non-forum wheelers that want to attend, and send them periodic updates.

I've already got one RSVP to attend. Douglas C. who has a '79 Jimmy, 8" Lift, 35s, LSD in the rear. If I can get him added!

Drop some of those off up at Outdoor Rec. I'm doing the hired program up there and will pitch it to peeps. :D

PM'd you a link to a higher res one. It's on Fort Irwin's MWRs facebook page, but I seriously am about to print them out an put them in windshield wipers. There are a couple guys here on post that have full AEV setups and I've never once seen dirt on the tires, needs to be rectified.
