Cool Big FUN run coming up at Ocotillo Wells October 15/16

Hey guys, I hope to see you at the upcoming Operation Desert Fun run coming up October 15 and 16 in San Diego County at Ocotillo Wells!

Click on California Association of 4WD Clubs, Inc. :: Don't wait to register for Operation Desert Fun for complete details and for online registration.

This is a charitable fundraiser for our disabled military veterans so not only is your $35 registration fee tax deductible, it helps out our deserving veterans!!

Lots of fun runs for anything 4x4 from stock to wild. There will be runs you can take your stock SUV mall cruiser on to challenging runs that require lockers and 33" or bigger tires.

We always have disabled vets attending the event and they have a great time. They gave it up for us, it's time we gave it up for them in return.

And last but not least, there is a BIG RAFFLE for cool stuff Saturday night. Winches, tires, tools, lockers, etc. are the usual items we give away and who knows, you could walk away with a new winch or a set of awesome tires!

Do it! Click on California Association of 4WD Clubs, Inc. :: Don't wait to register for Operation Desert Fun and register. Even if you can't attend, simply registering with your $35 registration fee will help!!! Dash plaque included!

Sounds good, though plenty of us will be wheeling by ourselves too so if your brother can't make it, come on anyway!

Here's a site with a bunch of good photos that one of the guys in my particular group posted up... there also are a few pics of my black TJ, it's the one with the big Goodyear stickers on the hood. Snapfish: Share:Registration. You do have to register on that site but they promise they don't spam those who register.

It was a pretty fun event though it was a bit hot during the daytime. The disabled military veterans who were there enjoyed it as well.

Had a ball, only suffered a minor snag on the soft top while driving through "The Jeep Squeeze" which is in the first third of the photos.

That last photo shows Heart Attack Hill which is steeper than it looks.

Looks like a great time down there. I have never taken my Jeep through the squeeze or down Heart Attack hill but maybe sometime. I have been there many times for the last 30 years but always on my dirt bike. By the way Jerry, your left stop light is burned out.

Huh? I just checked 'em this weekend and all my lights were working. Plus my tail lights are LED. Where did you see my Jeep?

I was looking at the photos of you going down Heart Attack Hill (#1105) and it appears your left stop light is not working. Maybe this is not you but it looks like your Jeep.

Thanks. I looked at that pic and it sure looks like it's not working to me too. I had to pull the wiring up inside there two weeks ago to reconnect my license plate lights so it's likely that's the problem. I must have pulled a connection loose somehow, even as careful as I try to be when doing electrical work. Thanks, I had no idea, especially since it was working Friday when I did a light check test before leaving for the event.
