Borrego Mountain Wash Drop Off

Google maps gives directions to Font's Point via a trail from the south called Borrego Mountain Wash instead of from the north from the S22.

Last weekend I tried this route and came to a pretty brutal looking drop off- loose, deep sand and deep moguls. The rest of the trail was very mild.

I couldn't find much information on this- has anyone here encountered that feature? How soft was I for turning back?

We did the borrego drop a couple weeks ago...looked worse than it was. A funny while going down it was my wife saying aren't we going a little fast? When I had to tell her my foot was on the brake...she just kind of gave me that look! If was our first trip out in our new jeep.

That is exactly what I was thinking would happen. I guess as long as you keep it pointed downhill....

The ruts looked really deep, but the sand seemed so soft that I guess you just push through it?
