Where do you all start the trail from the Sulton see area. I know how to get on it from the Red canyon trail off of the I-10, but was told that the section to the west of it was "closed" since you have to cross the cannel and it was illegal to cross it?

Hey Jeff, My son and I might be interested in joining you. We will be in Borrego Springs through the 29th. I know nothing of this trail but it sounds like the trail head is close by us. I'm not sure I want to run it all the way to Blythe. I need to do some research. I'll stay tuned to this thread.

So is anybody interested in doing a day trip sat 12/28.? Haven't been here yet so it's an trip to explore maybe like a half day run. Thinking of starting trail no later than 9 am and finishing no later then 3 or 4. So 2 or 3 hours in an same to back out. Have lunch on the trail. If your interested in going let me know ASAP so we can set up a meet place. Not planning on doing anything extreme so stock will work. The more the merrier

Thanks for that info. Yeah I've been looking into this trail for a while. Downloaded usgs topo maps. And a few other ones. And different trail write ups. I'm sure I'll have fun exploring. I know what my jeep is capable of and what it's not. I wouldn't do anything alone unless I know I can get myself out. Still planning on heading out on sat 12/28 if anybody is interested
