Calico Nov 8-10th

So with these cooler temps comes the ability to get back to the desert trails. We will be spending the weekend in Calico on the weekend noted above. I am really looking forward to seeing what winter has done to the trails and canyons of Calico. I don't have a specific plan for what trails on which days, but I am certain to be hitting both Canyons...We plan on getting there early on Friday for a run and of course Saturday....Not sure about Sunday yet!

If your not going to the event in Panamint or the Hump N Bump in NV, come on out to Calico! There are still quite a few full hook up site, partial hook up and tent sites available...

Hey Rich,Yeah Calico is a SB county Park and has a pretty nice camping area. When you come in the main gate the bottom campground is visible to your left and has RV sites, cabins and tent spaces. After you go through the main gate you can make a right and there are several spur roads with more sites. Some with full hook ups and some partial and some more tent sites. They have bathrooms and showers at both campgrounds and they are well kept. I believe we payed $34 a night for our spots. I don't know what tent sites are. Most of them have fire rings as well

Here is a link that will take you to the Calico page and it has a link to the reservation site.

Thanks Bill. Still a little ways out for me but I will put it on the calendar and check with the wife and family. Turns out some of the best wheeling weather is also some of the best dirt bike riding weather.

I have too many hobbies.

Crap, I can't make it. Maybe Dakota can. Hey Dakota are you listening? Oh well he'll post up. The summer rains changed much of the landscape in Borrego, I'm guessing the same has happened out Calico way.

Sorry you cant make it Grant, seems like a while since we wheeled. I am hoping the rain changed the landscape some...that keeps things interesting. I am keeping an eye on your January run, but wont know for sure until it gets closer....

Hey Bill, You know where to find us. We Have all winter and I'm ready. Dakota and I are wheelin' tomorrow and Saturday to check out all the damage and changes to the trails. I have to grade the yard in the morning. (2nd time) The water came down the highway and left a lot of dirt but took a lot away.

See you soon, Grant

I might be able to make this one but I will be a day runner. Work has been busy as he'll lately and has left little time to get some things done on the jeep.

I'm keeping an eye on this thread. I won't know about my availability until maybe 1 or 2 weeks before, but I'd like to at least make it out for a day run if I can.

We will be at Panamint Valley over this weekend, sorry to miss it since we really want to take the TJ to Calico. Maybe Dec-Jan sometime.

Panamint sounds great Lisa, I plan to get out there this season and attend the event next year. Steve will be out there as well...

Calico will have plenty of runs over winter... and maybe another meet & greet.....

I'm excited to see some of Steve's trails. All I really know is Doran and Odessa. We haven't even ventured out to find wall street again. Mainly because it's been so hot.
