Can't catch a break!

I've been a Jeep owner since.... I guess a 1950 Willys Overland I bought for $90! (In 196?!) My newest is a 2002 Wrangler S... forgot to research the problem with the 0331 head casting, and it's popped it's ugly head (ha,ha) up. So, what is anyone's recommendation for an alternative, that is easy on the bank? I've spent hours looking at sites that offer this and that for $2K.. I just want to get Ol' Yeller back up and at it.

Heck even Quadratec, home of the high prices, has a new ready-to-install head for much less than that. $600 seems to ring a bell. You can buy a newly remanufacturered engine for under $2000.
