Hey everybody! :wavey:

By March, I will be 100% healed from my back surgery! I have been Dying looking at all the pics and videos of everybody wheeling! Let's set this up!! :punk:

Date: March 8th- 10th.

*~*Calico Bound!

The address to the ghost town is 36600 Ghost Town Road Yermo, CA 92398. To get to our camp, you'll go 100 yards past the Ghost Town. Doran Scenic Rd is on the left. I'll put up some blue marker tape. Make that left and keep going straight down the dirt road. You'll run right into us. We're going to camp off Doran Scenic Rd before you go around the bend to the Gatekeeper. There's plenty of room for RVs. It's dry camping. No facilities, water etc. We'll run Doran, Odessa, can run Wall Street, and just go tool around.

If you want to come out Saturday, we'll leave camp for the trails around 10am.

You should have tow points; front and rear, sliders, armor, be lifted and at least 31's..33's are better. Lockers are not required, but helpful in a couple spots. If you don't have them, no biggie. Worse case is you get a strap/winch.

Look for my yellow happy face flag. I'm a white TJ. American Flag flying driver with a pink windshield banner that reads It's just a rock- I'll get over it

CB- Ch 4. ( I don't get cell service once out in the canyon.)

*****FRIENDLY REMINDER FOR EVERYONE*****

Ya, I'm sure lol

I'm trying to track him down. I lost all my contacts when I broke my phone..I'm not sure if he moved his shop or not..

Stan, Rich and anyone else with CB knowledge (stuff), please bring it with you in case I cant get it running. I need to have a CB to lead this group! Plus it Sucks to wheel without one.
I'll bring an extra soup can and string for you

you can always just flip the ANL switch and that helps but as rich said pure battery power is best
and i can bring an swr as well
What I'm saying is this, I've got two 12V plugs in my dash, 1 is always hot, the other is only hot with the key on. I'm thinking of going with the always hot one so I don't have to stretch wire from the battery through the dash. Will this avoid the alternator feedback whine?

Rob, I would def go with the one that is always hot. I had mine wired to a power source that was keyed and it was a PITA so I changed it to always hot. Just need to remember to turn off CB at the end of the day.

As I said earlier the BEST way is to wire it directly off the battery for the cleanest power. However that is not what I did. I used this trick little fuse adaptor thingy (technical name) and went off the fuse block behind the glove box.

I still get a little tiny bit of noise but it is not bothersome. I'd say try it off the power source you are looking at and if it works leave it, if not, run the wires to the battery.

Yes HAM is way better but I am surprised at how few wheelers have it. Everyone has a CB and for the most part CB is fine for the short distances we are broadcasting.

I went wheeling with a buddy last week with HAM and we talked all day on simplex crystal clear - even after he lost his whip. Sure wish more of my wheeling friends would get their ticket.

Ehh... We get stock rigs through all the time. Just can't guarantee no damage. Even built rigs break sometimes. Lol
True, and if it were my run* I wouldn't care but always feel super guilty weighing down a group if I don't know them really well.

This summer/late spring. Working through right now nonstop to figure out $$$$ on my regear (claps hands 4.56!!) and arbs with an 8.8 jumping in for active rear end duty. (Hehe. Rear end duty. Hehe) That and sliders and I'll be begging yall for a trip to bash and break! Ugh. Just feeding the addiction so badly.
