Cleghorn Ridge (2N47) San Bernardino Jan. 25

Anyone interested in going to Cleghorn Ridge (2N47) this Saturday morning January 25? I've never been there and would like to check it out. We could meet up at Jack in the Box in Fontana off the 15 and Sierra at 8:30am. Here's the address to the Jack in the Box: 3910 Sierra Avenue, Fontana, CA 92336

I have tentative plans to go to Cougar Buttes Saturday morning, but if that doesn't pan out, I'd be happy to do Cleghorn with you. We did from the lake up the other direction last Sunday. I believe I like that direction even better

Okay XJ Phil, let me know when you find out. It would cool to have some one join me since I've never been to Cleghorn.

One of my first trails (10+ years ago), been there dozens of times since. It is doable for just about every level of driver, as long as you pay attention. I will keep you informed as we get closer to the day. P.A.

When I first ran this trail quite a few years back I would not even attempt some of the bypasses as I was a big chicken and I had no body with me except for my son who had brown shorts to begin with.

I'm actually new to the offroad world and the only place that I've been to is Azusa Canyon a few times, so this will be my second offroad location. I'm really looking forward to it.

I may just have to get in touch with Rich and draw a pass on that (no real rocks) Cougar Buttes run and do Cleggy again.

Do you want to go a few miles further up the 15 to the Mcdonald's at SR 138 (Palmdale exit) at that same time (8:30)?

I might be in. I've run Cleghorn once before ("backwards" from Silverwood back to the 15). Are you planning on staying on the fire road, or taking the difficult routes? Last time I was up I took a few challenging routes, but mostly stayed on the main road.

I should be able to make this...we can always do the main obstacle the opposite way for those that want to try it....

Now what fun would the main road be?

Probably won't go on the fire roads at all except to hit the first off shoot. But you can still come with us and run along side as we make our ascent up the trail.

XJ_Phil, I'm coming from South Whittier. How about we meet up at 8:30am at Papa Tony's Diner instead? Here's the address to Papa Tony's Diner: 18291 Cajon Blvd., San Bernardino, CA 92407.

Okay kidz - Mickey D's at the 15 / 138 at 08:30. If we head out right away, we should be at the lake ready to air down by 9:00 and hitting the trail shortly thereafter.

Sorry about that......a number of other people (texting) are going to be showing up at Mickey Ds at 8:30 ready to go wheeling. Hope you make it in time. From there we will be heading up the 138 to air down at the lake across from the trail head (or tail - LOL)

I think he needs more time to get up this way coming from so far. I would say for those that are already up here Micky ds at 9 maybe so everyone can run together.

If he leaves 6 minutes earlier (than he would have to meet at the Jack in da Box), he will be there right on time, and get a better cheapo breakfast

Even from there, on a Saturday morning, you should be able to get there in about an hour. Pack water and maybe some snacks. Lunch if you want to do some other trails after that maybe

The whole experience is research and development. Find out where the weak spots are and make them stronger so they don't break next time

Yessir, It's been a crash course for me the last 18 months but I'm having fun getting the toad back up to snuff. She was in need of lots of TLC
