Cow Mt Labor day 2012

So I started this thread so we didn't keep hijacking the lost coast one.

Jimbob looking at the gps with the map we were right at the end if we could have made it. I hope you got a pic of it. You can't see it on the gopro.

Jimbo we did end up on trail 25 It was a lot of fun. Maybe with 2-3 others we could have made it but just the two of us we weren't going to try. Had to back down a bit and make our own u-turn area. Just like knoxville.

We went on the right trail when we should have done the left one, per Northern Cal Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails book.

Yep, trail 25 was insane! I thought for a minute we might be hiking out, lol! Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics! Wish I would have taken some pics of that grand canyon of a washout that stopped us in our tracks!

Is this the way you guys went? Buckhorn camp is a dead end on 20 but if you go from there to the horse trough you can take a right on 23. From there you take a major decline in elevation until you get to a creek and bridge. Then the fun starts as you head up hill. After you get to the top 23 and 25 merge. If you go right on 25 it has a huge rut. If you go left on 23 you hit a down hill slope with 18-28" drops... you can flip over or bottom out if you don't take the proper line. It would be easier going up then going down but after that you are in the clear for the most part.

I took a picture of the map with the trail we went on and highlighted it. How can I load it from my phone?

We started from the Lakeport side, so basically took it the opposite direction you guys did. When you come to the intersection of 23 and 25, instead of staying on 23 we continued on 25 till we got to the creedbed and started back up the hill bout 200 yds or so when we hit that huge rut/washout. We had to back out from there and create our own turn around. We should have made the turn at the intersection of 23/25 in which we would have made it to the bridge and ultimately the horse trough. Gene and I would have went that way on the way out of 25, but I had to be somewhere for the afternoon and had to cut the run short, so we just went back the way we came. Still lots of pucker factor for sure, and pinstripe city!

Lots of the videos have sun spots so it's taking a lot long to get them done.

Awesome you got the dirt biker on that last video! Shows how much room we had on that trail. Bet he thought we were crazy for taking our jeeps there! That last part before hitting the creekbed was knarly!
