Wink Day 1 of my Australian Dirty Girls 4x4 Weekend * May 2014

Australia was a Blast!!

Purpose of this trip for me: To meet Bob and see first hand what exactly Dirty Girls 4x4 Weekends were all about...so that I can launch them stateside, as well as doing other things.

Purpose for putting these events on: To empower women to feel confident that they can wheel. They build confidence, learn a lot and have a ton of fun! The events are completely inclusive. Show up, and have fun..everyone is catered to, and everything is included. All meals are specially catered to including drinks; as well as alcohol for when we're done wheeling. Campfires rock, the people rock! Everyone just lets their hair down..it's so much fun....and things do get a bit crazy Kind of like at my camps. No kidding!

I arrived in Aussie land after a grueling extra long flight. I was jet lagged Big Time!! First stop was one of the Jeep dealerships he owns to meet the team and marketing operation for Dirty Girls. Jeeeeeeep!!!

He put me up in one of his beachfront condos he owns for the first night..talk about luxury! I could get used to that!

Took a selfie with Bob, and got me some Kangaroo and Kuala time.. .so adorable! The Kangaroo are free to roam the park..crazy!

We grabbed something to eat and looked over the plan for the next 3 days! You'll see, it's pretty jammed. He's got this thing figured out!

We're headed to the beach! DIRTY GIRL STYLE!

***Day 2 and 3 to follow gradually. I have a ton of pics and posting on FB as well. Time consuming

And if you want to check things out more.. http://www.dirtygirls4x4weekends.com.au/

LOL ya..he asked if I wanted to drive when we were in the city...I was like; nah..I'll pass. But as soon as we got off road, I took the reins. Very weird shifting left handed too. He asked if I'd be willing to live there 6 months out of the year...I thought, ya, If I'd live through it. Weird driving.. no bueno.

Mike drove about 2 miles on the ranch we stayed at in South Africa, after that he said hell no to driving on the "wrong" side. Lol, of course it seems all their vehicles are stick shifts too, just to add to the confusion

The Koala looks so cuddly!! What an amazing trip, the pictures are beautiful

Day 2

I loved the little name tag for my Glamper

Ship wrecks we snorkeled through. We could feel it and the water was so clear, you could see every little detail. The fish and marine life flourish there and we fed the fish bread while there. HUGE fish....the blow fish was my favorite..and all were so colorful. Tons of them!

Fast airboat..we flew off the water!

Then back to camp for dinner and fire...you had your normal suspects of falling down around camp It was hilarious to watch..music was killer and of course our staff boys made sure we always had a drink! I got so spoiled!

There are no rocks there. They do beach...and these weekends are all about doing fun things together throughout the weekend...it's not all about the wheeling. The wheeling is just part of it...so it is different from what I currently do....but these Dirty Girl events are highly successful.

It was fun! I drove the first day and then just rode passenger so the girls could drive. They were challenged on the sand. And it was all very new to them. They learned when to go hi/lo, speed etc..when they asked to see my jeep..their eyes bugged out of their heads..not kidding LOL!

Day 2

Saturday night was a crazy fun 4x4 bus ride to the beach, music blasting and champagne flowing. We get there, and they whip out this serious spread of different appetizers. Three of them walk around with platters of food and bottles of champagne and beer. We took group photos and waited for the sun to set. Live entertainment consisted of whatever came to mind...they whipped out juggling acts and we got a bit of Tom Cruise in the movie Cocktail ! So much fun!

That bus gave a whole new meaning to the words bus ride.

Last day

The day was all about some wheeling, the beach, and this lighthouse that dates back to the 1800's. Pretty interesting..

The views from the lighthouse were gorgeous! And to learn about how they lived there back then was remarkable. The lighthouse Keeper's wife; Mary, died shortly after giving birth to her 11th child!! 11th! She died at age 37.

I've got a couple videos...play with that later..

I tried to bring you through how my days went through my pics..as you can see, it's really about enjoying each others company all weekend through some wheeling and fun activities. It's a gorgeous island ! and I had a blast! Even though the wheeling was relatively simple for me, it wasn't so much for others in the beginning. By the end of the weekend, those who had never put their Jeeps in 4 wheel drive were completely bit by the end of it! You should have seen their faces! Priceless!

That looks like an amazing adventure. You would make a great spokesmodel for their company. You have such a joy for the Jeep life and are so fearless on the rocks. I am so happy for you and hope it truly makes your dreams come true. You sure have worked hard at it. You are a Dirty Jeep Girl through and through.

Thanks Bob..I have to say the highlight of Australia for me wasn't the wheeling. It was snorkeling those ship wrecks. Now I completely understand how divers forget about everything when they're underwater in fascinating places. There is a Zen feeling that overcomes you and you feel like you want to live down there. I've snorkeled in the Cayman Islands in the past, but this trip blew that out of the water. We could touch the ships and everything else down there. I explored the ships by peeking into doorways and windows. I can't really put it into words about how it all felt. They gave us gloves to wear so we wouldn't cut ourselves doing it. And the fish were amazing. All kinds, all sizes and all colors....and all so close. I will Never forget it.

Easy to see why those trips are so popular with the ladies. I bet his formula would be successful here in the states as well. Good luck to you Bob and the Muller group.
