I dropped by the shop Friday night to check on the progress. I'm so pleased with the work they are doing! I love the fact they are commited to making sure everything will work correctly. It would be so easy for them to just bolt on the products and give the jeep back to me. But they are taking the time to cycle the suspension, get the correct size shocks to maximize the travel, custom order the correct valving, correct all the clearance issues, etc. They have also found a few problems I did not know about and corrected them too. I could not be happier about the work they are doing!!!
With that said, I called them last night and added a few more items to my build. You are right, I can not wait!

-Meet at McDonalds in the Cajon Pass off the 15 freeway and highway 138.
-At 9am we will all caravan to the Silverwood Dam trailhead, where we will air down.
-We will be taking 2017x up to Pilot Rock.
-We will return to highway 138 via 2n37.
-Anyone just wanting a short run can break from us at this point.
-For those who want more fun, we will be doing Cleghorn (2n47) backwards (ie 138 in Silverwood to the 15 freeway).
I would say this is a moderate run with lots of bypasses. For those who want to join us, we will be on CH 04. Hope to see you there…

Never run it backwards. Lockers required?

Yep, that is what I was thinking which is what caught my eye. I will see how things go since it is so close to Christmas but it sounds fun. The weather may be another thing to keep an eye on. If it is raining and ugly I will bow out.

No you dont need a locker. Cleghorn and Pilot rock each have a difficult hill climb that makes it nice to have at least a rear locker, but both also have a bypass and since were running backwards on Cleghorn, that one is a down hill.

Where are you having it done Dan?

I'm tempted to join you guys but I'm heading out to Ocotillo next Wednesday. We'll see I have a couple days to decide.

We want to get out over the holiday but I think we're gonna tool around Big Bear on the wee newbie trails. (Owning it!) After seeing all the pics from the Crab Flats run I want to play in the snow too! However since I procrastinate and am prone to sleeping in- keep your ear out on 4.
Dan- the direction/trail you're taking would be PERFECT for testing out the new Fox shocks. In about a month. Keep in mind they need to settle a bit so you might get jarred this time out. Don't judge by this outing. But the part of Pinnacle (?) that comes back down to Silverwood is a big grin fest once they break in. You can get some speed up and see around the corners- with some baby moguls/whoops thrown in. Yee haw. You'll be going up- but still fun.

Have fun and be safe.

I'm going to try to make it Dan. I'd really like to be there to watch your suspension stretch its legs. I've got family flying into town Friday, so it's a maybe at this point.

Since my parents live about 2 hours away, we're doing Christmas with my family Saturday so we can stay local (her family) on Christmas day.

At least I got out of going to Redondo Beach for Christmas eve because I'm on call.
