I don't mind wheeling in a couple of inches of snow, just as long as I can still pick a line. It's a couple of feet of it that screws things up. Lol

This is tentative but I'm kicking around the idea of heading up to the mountains next weekend for a day trip ... nothing technical like John Bull or Holcomb because I am taking a buddy with a 2WD PreRunner and I'll be in my Liberty ... so it will mainly be flat trails ... but a getaway nonetheless

if anybody wants to come along they are welcome just give me a heads up and we can set up a meeting place ... good way to get the kids out or take some 2WD buddies to give them the bug ... this will likely be a Saturday gig so it won't interfere with the planned Cleghorn run on the 18th

**forewarning ... geocaching may be involved ... that is usually how i have to get the fam involved with wheelin' and the outdoors**

Gonna head out to Calico tomorrow for a last minute fun run ... Not gonna do Doran or Odessa ... was just gonna fart around Phillips Loop then head to Wallstreet ... was gonna spend the rest of the day exploring back behind everything ...

Anyone is welcome to join ...

Also just saw info on Winter on the Rocks in St George the end of Jan. Looks cool.

Victorville here..........I'm ready for pretty much any "DAY RUN" - but seldom venture more than 50 miles or so from home. Seems like every time I go to Calico, I break something. So not to excited about going there any time soon. It's been a while since I've been to White Mountain. Are you up for that run? I believe some of those "down the hill guys" are planning a 2N17x & Dishpan Springs rally early in Dec.

Thursday might work out. I take my wife to work at about 8:00. When and where would you want to link up before heading to the trail? I have not been up Grapevine since it was closed 2 or 3 years ago. I'm told it has been reopened, and pretty much the most direct route. What do you say?

The last time I came down that way, I ended up making a right (into that neighborhood) and after 3 or 4 turns, came out on (is it) High Road, just south of the tracks. Been a few years, but I'm guessing I can find my way back thru the other direction. Otherwise you have to go like a mile and a ½ west of the trail to legally get across the tracks.

I've invited a few other people to join in. Pretty sure they will all have to work, but I asked anyway. Think you will be ready to head out by 8:30

This is the way I ended up taking:

On High Road take the first right after the tracks, Castle Rock Road
At the end of Castle Rock Road take a right on Orchard Dr, take the third left, Road Runner Street
Road Runner ends at a T intersection with Grapevine Canyon Road, take a left and enjoy

BAD NEWS KIDZ! That U-joint issue that took me off the trail on Saturday morning has been resolved, but I busted up my spider gears in the process. I'm sure my budget will not allow me to have that fixed for at least another week or two. POOP! count me in for the next time you go to White Mtn tho. Ok??

Let us know when you are back in the game ... I might be out for a few weeks myself ... I have to get new tires ...

This might be a good time to do some maintenance ... My diffs have a class 2 leak ... I'm due to flush them anyways ... plus I'm trying to get my lift sooner than later

Do you a line on some for CHEAP? I think factory new is around $150ish. I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time).

Thanx,
Phil

I did a quick search on craigslist for "XJ Dana 35" and came up with quite a bit of stuff ... It depends on your gearing but it looks like you can find what you need

So, do you have any D44 parts for a Rear Axle? I broke something in mine today. Whenever I turn, it makes a grinding, popping sound. But I've got an extended warranty. Hope they cover it. I spun my tires, got traction, and BOOM!!! But I drove it home, thank god.

I'm up to my elbows grilling up yard bird for dinner right now, but I can send you pix a little later on. If I miss sundown (that gets here really early these days), I'll do it first thing in the a.m. I will take the pic with my cell phone, but I'm not too sure how to get it from there to here.

Oh yeah, "NO" it has not been pulled apart yet. Do you have a shop or just an inventory of spare Jeep parts?
