3. rkwfxd-Rich** You guys know you'll be camping!!

I trust you're a very good team player (and the family), so I have taken the liberty to make appropriate edits back to their original state.

I really wanted to get a pair of 100w kc lights from the expo. Got a pretty good deal but I was way passed budget lol.

Good thing b/c Miller is very dusty.

As far as lights on night runs, if you have headlights, you're good to go...not to mention, you'll be getting extra light from the people behind you.

I ran without trail lights on my Yo Yo for 10 years, Only when I got my jeep did I throw some on.. no biggie

Now all you need to do is finish wiring them all up.

I would offer to help with the wiring stuff, but I tend to bypass a lot of things. I did some wiring for my jeep. I have yet to figure out how a relay works because I've never used one for any accessory lmaoo

If you are going to wire lights I would strongly recommend a relay and a fuse. 100 watt lights are going to require a 20 amp fuse. Two lights are going to be pulling close to 18 amps. I use Contoura switches which are rated for 20 amps so in theory I could run 100 watt lights directly through the switches but if anything shorts it is going to get real hot real fast.

Not to worry. I pretty much exhausted my knowledge of the subject in that single post.

Hey Lorie, looking forward for next week end run and camping. I think i will head out on Friday. Otherwise Saturday will turn out early mourning 5 hour drive prior to trail run. I think all together same day-no fun. What do you think?

Me too!!!

I'm going to be out there early Friday! Come out as early as you can! We'll go play! Have some lunch and have a beer!

Any time I wheel, I prefer to camp; esp for that kind of drive. Are you off Friday?

That would be sweet! When I have the day off and need to drive 4 hours, I usually get on the road by 0500 or earlier to beat traffic. But then I'm used to getting up at 0330-0400 for work everyday, so I just wake up

Well, let me know as we get closer..I'm hoping Rich and family will make it Friday as well..but don't know if they can pull that off yet.

Me? I will be there early; just because I'll have been on vacation all week here at the beach and I'll be ready to jump in my rig and go tool around. I'll make friends if none of mine are there yet

If you can give me an ETA later on, I'll keep my CB on and eyes open..maybe I can meet ya at the guard shack.

When you come in, they will take some money and hand you a map..make sure you've got all the info off the first post of this thread.

If ya'll look at the link on the first post, you'll see they're are fees for this park. It's a state park.

$5 day pass
$10 camp

For those of you who've never been, the park is very close to the Flying J, fast food, hotel...so, close to civilization if you need anything. Even a parts store

Thanks Lorie,

Some very helpful info here. You've been great.

Another question Lorie, sorry for my ignorance , do i need a can/tank of gas for the trails?

Yes, the golden rule...any time you're going to be running a trail(s), you always want to make sure you have a full tank.....no bueno if you run out right?

Everyone meeting at the Flying J Saturday----please gas up and be ready to roll at 9am...don't want to be hanging out until 930-1000 waiting for everyone to get gas Trust me...Trail 113 to the end and back will take some time, and then we'll hit Miller. We've got a nice sized run so far; and still open to a few more if you'd like to join in. I usually cap Miller at 20 rigs or so. After we leave #113, to miller is another 20 minutes or so to the trailhead...the trail itself with a lunch stop will be around 4 hours or so..depending. So, we want to leave the Flying J as close to 9am as possible

Eddie, if you're coming in Friday, get gas before you come in the park...there's lots of trails to run and we can hit the practice area as well!

I totally understand having full tank of gas before entering any trail, but i was wondering a spare can(5 gal). I see those attached in the back. Do we need those in case we run out of gas.

I always say if you have extra, bring it..but for our run Saturday, it's not needed. Just be full when we leave

I'm stoked for this run! Don't forget wood ok!

Sweet! And free is always good. I grab wood from base for every run myself.

If you have any others questions, please don't hesitate to ask

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

Thought we'd bypass YJ this go around, and do #113 instead. There is another trail after YJ on Lockwood before Miller that's interesting and pretty as well. Marked moderate..we never do it..but it's actually a good trail. Nothing hardcore like anything else in Fraizer Park, but it's a good trail. I wouldn't mind doing that one again. We can always play it by ear and see if the group wants to wheel it when we get there. It dead ends at a decent sized area full of trees and bushes and a picnic table. One Huge tree in the center..neat trail.

What a bunch of Class A IDIOTS

Obviously, just done watching the news. It'll be interesting to see what Christmas brings. Everyone with kids should start explaining why they won't be getting a ton of gifts. (even more so if you're a Gov employee)
Ok, rant over.

So let's talk ...If Miller is still closed
I've been talking with some friends on our list.....the general consensus is, if I change the location to CB or Calico, I will lose them. They aren't comfortable with their level of skills yet and/or their rigs aren't ready for that level of rocks. I Completely understand.....so no matter what, I will not change the plans for staying in HV.

We can stay in HV, see if the other trails #111,112, and 113 are open...and BC 109 is an option. I played around in the river bed part of it last year but didn't see the trailhead where I have in the past..so would need to check into that. Personally, I'm not a fan of racing through riverbeds..just jiggles loose a bunch of bolts. The trail itself once out of the riverbed is pretty. It dead ends back in the woods. I haven't made it back on that trail in 3 years.

As for HV..believe it or not, you can spend a day there and have a good time. I know the trails; day and night..

Saturday could be : Pronghorn to Quails Pass to Vics Cat to Sterling. I always stop on Quails Pass for a group photo hanging an American Flag in honor of my friend Texas. We've got a big group and it will take time to run all these trails. Afterwards, we could take a break and then head over to the practice area. By then, evening will be upon us. Could night run all the trails as well if we wanted and/or practice area.

The practice area has everything in it to sharpen your skills. Steps for flex, rocks, climbs, mud and more serious stuff where you can actually break your junk.

So we still have options and no matter what, we will still have a good time. It's the company and friendships made too. Not just the trails..know what I mean

SO...what's everyone's thoughts in case our Government still isn't doing their job?

Our current list:

1. I H8RDS -Lorie ** CAMPING- Fri-Sun
2. 4X4smurf-Lorenzo**CAMPING- Fri-Sun
3. rkwfxd-Rich** You guys know you'll be camping!!

Now I'm scared to watch the news :/.

As for our trip, I really need to get away. Still unsure weather or not I will camp. But I will be coming at least for a day run.

Asking the wifey? Lol I don't know where you got that from, but I am as single as can be and won't be needing to ask anyone for permission. Except the 4wheel parts store because of this new squeak I got haha

Ya, looks like it'll be coming down to the wire as far as miller goes. Thought you had to ask the wifey... Guess it was someone else. Lucky you!! :-P

Looking forward to meeting you!

I'll edit your new wife when I get home. ;-) Lol
