Smile Easy Run!! Any interest in Wheeling Trail #113 & Miller OCT 19TH?

UPDATE OCT- 17TH

ALL TRAILS ARE RE-OPENED AND WAITING TO BE WHEELED!

************************************************** ***
UPDATE #2

For those of you meeting me at the Flying J Saturday, I believe there's going to be another group meeting at the Flying J at the same time. Make sure you get in the right group My Jeep is a white 2000 TJ, American Flag flying driver. Please be gased up and ready to roll at 9am!

Both these trails can be done in a stock Jeep. Trail #113 is a gorgeous trail full of huge trees and just really pretty to wheel through. It's easier than Miller but not a service road.

Miller Jeep Trail is rated black diamond, but that's due to the section at the very end of it. I've been running these trails for years, and it's the easiest I've ever seen it now. Only thing you may want to have are rock rails for the top; just in case. But other than that, you'll be fine just having 4 Lo. This trail does have some steep sections, but the rocks just aren't that big on this trail. And, there is a lot of just trail riding sections with no rocks as well. Anyone wondering if they can do this trail or on the fence; you'll be fine! You'll come off it with a smile on your face wanting more. Trust me!!

We'll stop for lunch at Sunset Creek right at the section of Lockwood Valley and Miller Jeep Trail.

MEET TIME: 9am Saturday Oct 19th

MEET PLACE: Flying J- 42810 Frazier Mountain Park Rd, I-5 Frazier Park Exit 205, Frazier Park, CA 93243

CHANNEL 21 CB

Some of us will be camping Friday, Oct 18th -SundayYou're welcomed to join for the day on Saturday or for the whole weekend with us!

This sounds like fun. Put me down as a maybe. Still three weeks out. I'd like to bring Tyler and Dave. Don't want to run it in the rain. Maybe stay late and turn it into a night run in Gorman?

That's a lot of wheelin..#113 to the end and back is a nice ride..then up Miller; figure another few hours...Lorenzo says he def wants to come..He doesn't know about Calico. He wants to test out his new shoes. He went with 35's

Well I just figured 113 would take the place of YJ and then since we basically end in Gorman, rather than drive straight to the gate and home, loop around onto a trail on the way out. Nothing major.

We could always run Vics Cat backwards (down), onto Quails Pass and onto Pronghorn....which would put us out by the Smokey Bear exit to go home.

Yeah, something like that is what I was thinking. But I will go slower than I did the last time. I don't need someone to stand on my bumper again while I back up to keep from going over the side.

But I'm still just a "maybe" anyway as three weeks is a long time in my world.

I'm sitting in my rig for a work break and some dude just pulled up and took a pic from the front.

Don't know of I'm happy about that or of I should worry. I work on base.

Rich- you were inquiring about fires at Sky and/or the campground below it.. there's NO fires allowed in Los Padres anywhere. Level IV..and I'm 99.9% sure, it'll be like this until the end of the season or close to it unless we get some major rains.

Why most tails and meetings are in southern california?, im new to this and wonder if i look at the wrong section or? The map says the meeting is 5 hours away from my place. Do you guys live in LA area? Is it normal that people drive 5 hours to get to the meeting point? Pardon my ignorance

6 months out of the year, I drive just about 4 hours one way to go wheeling. It's why I always make it a camping weekend too. 9 times out of 10, I camp Fri-Sun.

That's my reality anyways being in Ventura at the beach.

But you know what? It's worth every freakin mile.

Only when Miller Jeep Trail and surrounding is open, do I not Have to camp because this trail is an hour and a half from home as opposed to 4 hours.

I don't think camping will be high priority in regards of my ability to make it or not. If its a day run, i can still stay in hotel. I just need to confirm my schedule for that week end. Also, it's my first time going out with forum members and i feel a bit shy .

LOL you won't feel shy after 5 minutes with us..no worries! Anyone will tell ya, we're pretty easy going, goofy, and fun! I'm sure you'll fit right in!

I'll put ya on the list...we are camping..I will post up info on that probably tomorrow..need to make some calls first..keep your eyes on the thread; and on the first post for the latest information for this run weekend.

There's 2 options on camping..both are right in the immediate area. Stay tuned...

Glad you decided to inquire and welcome to the forum. I've made lifelong friends I call family here.

If you can't make it, just let me know!

Lorie
