Factor 55?

Is anyone here using the Factor 55 winch lock?
I picked one up from the vender at TDS for a killer deal...promised not to say ....$$
Also pickup a comp bumper from Dave's Customers....sweet lookin and couldn't beat the price ...
Just got them mounted and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Factor 55? Seems like a good idea ...

You should talk to Stan, he deals in them and uses one. You would have to get about half price to put those in the range... I plan to get the Viking safety thimble once I go to synthetic line, Im sure you got a great deal...

Yeah right on....glad to hear
It looks and feels like a nice piece ...
I really like the idea of a closed loop and not having to worry about a strap coming off or breaking a hook...

This is one product I'll always be proud to display, sell, and use. Top quality, no nonsense, great products. We sell so many of these, and most buyers are not there to buy one, they happen to see the display and its just one of those "I got to have one of those" products.

That's very unfortunate.

We stock the "Loaded" thimbles from Factor 55 in red, blue, black and grey, along with their other fine products.

Yeah been looking at one of these too. Tired of the rope lead hanging off the bumper.

Design-wise, I'll have to give the nod to the Safety Thimble like is sold by Viking Offroad which routes the winch rope around the outside of the loop. So even if it were to fail, the rope is still holding the load. I've run the Safety Thimble on two TJs and when comparing it to the Factor 55 in a side-by-side comparison, the benefits to the Safety Thimble's design are readily apparent even to me. The Factor 55 looks a lot like the Safety Thimble that came out first but that is where the resemblance ends.

Read up on F 55 and their testing, and then tell me it's not a good design. The force it takes to break it is so far off the charts for what we do with a jeep, or an H1 for that matter. Plus the F55 just has a nice bling to it.

Yes I thoroughly read up on the Factor 55's testing, I read up on it soon after it was introduced. But having seen it first hand & used the Safety Thimble for 8-10 years, I wouldn't even consider switching away from the Safety Thimble. To me, it's a better design despite not having any bling.

We always have room on our shelves for high quality products like the Viking and the Factor 55, although at the rate the F 55 sells here, there's much more room on that shelf!
