Fun run to Idyllwild.

I am thinking of doing a short easy run from Bee Canyon to Pine Cove tomorrow. After the run, probably will go to JoAnns restaurant for lunch and a cold one or two. Anyone interested in going along. A good meeting spot is the ranger station at the base of the mountain.

Jeff

In east Hemet. Idyllwild is a mountain community between Palm Springs and Hemet.

What skill level and rig requirements are needed for this run?

I'm quite new to the scene and not familiar with any of these trails.

Thanks!

Beginner is fine. I have done it in 2wd in dry conditions. It is more scenic than difficult. Just a nice getaway for a few hours.

Awesome! I just bought my first Jeep a bit over a month ago and have many plans, but pretty basic for now, besides a 3" body lift that will be coming off.

When and where is everyone meeting up?

Are you familiar with the Hemet area? We can meet at the In & Out Burger. Head out from there.

That's always a fun couple of hours. Was there any snow? And how high was the water crossing?

Patches of snow up at the top. The water crossing was about a foot or so at the deep end and only a few inches in the paved section.

Keep an eye on the CA section. There is always someone setting something up. And we need more YJs representing the superior technology of the original Wrangler.

It always amazes me that there's water there year round. But not always at the bottom where it crosses under the 74. Glad y'all had a good time.
