Just the essentials water and snacks a small cooler. , ill be bringing recovery equpiment. A guage to air down I have one if you just want to use it. , I have a small compressor to air back up. It takes awhile but it works. Do you have recovery points on your bumbers either hooks or a D-ring? Ill be bringing a shovel( highly doubt we will need it) I also have tools, just in case.

Just check all of your fluids before leaving , wouldn't hurt to bring some tools, zip ties, flashlights a small first aid always better to be prepared . Other than that I'm sure someone will have what you need should something happen. Its going to be a blast!

Snacks and drinks. I'll have a strap in case anyone needs a tug. Gorman isn't super remote or anything so you don't need much. Just essentials like food, water, and recovery equipment.

Kyle, you bringing your hilift? Is the winch hooked up?

For those who are going:
When you get there look for a sweet blue LJ ( Justins ) and a silver TJ (mine) we will head straight for the jeep play ground and hang out until everyone arrives. Than we can all decide what we want to do.

PM me if you want to exchange numbers,
And if you have a CB, we will ptobably be on channel 21.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but be prepared to pay a small fee at the gate. I think it's $5 or $10.

Hahaha, sounds like a custom fab is needed. Then you could go into business. And make millions. !

It's going to be a great day up there, although a bit windy. Be sure to post pictures as I will be busy putting on a cat back and changing a rear main seal.

Rad day. They totally changed the 4x4 area from last time I was out there last year. Lots more rocks. Perfect. I'm uploading pics and videos right now.

Only carnage of the day was a bent tie rod. Kyle was trying to go up the steep wall and came down hard on his passenger side front tire. Instant bent tie rod. We took it off and bent it back by hand, with a little help from a HiLift handle. I wanted to bend it straight enough to sleeve the tie rod with the handle but we couldn't get it that straight. Close though. Bolted it back up, and it held together fine for the drive home.

Other than that it was a fun day. We had a little show at the 4x4 play area with a Sami, a built Explorer, and a bunch of Chevy's.

The front tires don't look quite right..

Maybe this is why.

Somewhat straightened out.

Looks like a good time. Makes me want to put a stronger tie rod in place. Hard to believe it bent that easy.

The stock tie rod is junk. It's thin walled tubing. I run the Currie steering setup with a Savvy heat treated chromolly tie rod. Insanely beefy, hasn't let me down once.

A cheaper setup that's a decent upgrade is grabbing a tie rod and drag link off of a V8 ZJ. The tie rod on those is solid. Direct bolt on too IIRC.

Thanks for pointing that out. Now I have something to look for on the boards or the Santa Paula PickaPart.
