Gunners JK Build

I sold the TJ. Man I loved that Jeep. But I needed something I could take people out in. I needed more room. 2 door is out and 4 door is in. First off. The JK fits me soooo much better. I can get in and out easier. I have room. And I got 20 mpg on the hwy. Soon as I found out Jeep had 47psi in the tires I dropped them to 30 and promptly lost 3 mpg. So much for CAFE stds. I have heated Leather seats. In a Jeep.
So I start out with a blank slate. I sold my stock wheels and tires and bought 35x1250x17 BFG KM2's mounted on MB 17x8.5x4 Black Razors.
Then Today I called Stan and put in my first order of parts.
Im gonna do lift and reliability first.
So I bought a Rock Krawler 3.5 x factor kit along with the Rock Krawler 2.0 Aluminum Fluted shocks.

Nice! What's the end plan? Those RSE sliders are pretty neat for those who need a step. I saw them on a JK in Moab and they tuck away really nicely

Just an FYI a couple guys have showed me JK 44's with broken axle housings due to those sleeves. They break between the plug welds.

I'm not sure how Stan welds them in place but I'll let him know about that. As far as an end plan. Heck dude its a jeep it's never gonna be done.

Bob, are you going to the Off Road Expo next month to scope out some goodies for the JKU? I really want to go, not sure if Mike will be here or off hunting.

I'm pretty sure we are going. I talked to Dave and his wife and they want to go also. There is usually a pretty big group of Forum people there getting hammered at lunch.

I'm assuming you're not planning on wheeling it until you get the lift? Those 35's would definitely destroy those fenders.

Wheels look nice! Much better than the stock wheels.

It does look pretty cramped in the wheel wells though. Does it drive fine on the street?

Looking good and nice build plan too.

Gonna want some flat fenders with that X-factor and 35's. We stuffed our 35's on lots of occasion into the fenders and 37's with stock fenders don't do so well.

Can't wait to see the build up.

I like the stock fenders. I'm thinking something like this for the fender treatment.

Got my Procal from santa Stan yesterday. Going to recal and go for a fuel economy run with the new 35's
So far on factory 32's
New off the lot. Dealer set tire pressure at 47psi. 20.4 mpg
Reset tire pressure at 30 psi 17.4 mpg
Running at 80 mph 16.5 mpg
More to follow.

I average about 15.7-16.5 with my 35" tires & 3.5" lift. That's been my average for awhile now. Not bad in my opinion

I put the air pressure at 30 in the 35's this morning and did the Procal thing. It GPS's 72 at a 70 on the speedo. I filled up and zeroed everything. Jumped right on the freeway and drove 12 miles at under 70. It was at 19.7 when I got off the freeway. So far the computer has been really right on. We will see whats up after the lift.

I have no idea what the TJ gets, probably will never figure it out either so I'm not shocked or sad, lol.

It has a bigger gas tank on it due to the stretch, so it makes you think your getting good mileage.
