Yeah, been doing Calico all winter. Really looking forward to Big Bear. I'm sure we can make it happen.

Plus, Tim has some friends coming that aren't up for the black diamond stuff.

I have all day. If it takes an hour longer to get to the trail head, I'm good with that. Just need to be back on paved road by dark.

Okay, just heard its down to 3 miles of closed hwy. If its after middle control Rd, we can bypass the area of the spill and get back on the hwy....

I talked to Tim and he agrees that we are still running....something! He needs to keep the trail somewhat tame because he is taking a friend that is new to the sport. He is working and cant respond very well right now, but will be off about 430. I may drive up to see where the closure is and if we can get into middle control Rd...If that's not open maybe we can either access it via 330 or figure out another trail in Big Bear. Im good with whatever as long as we hit a trail

Okay so just got back from the area and the road block is right at middle control Rd and they have middle closed as well. If you know the road I'm talking about you know that it has a stream that runs under it a couple miles in...The guy at the roadblock said that the stream was polluted with the gas So that route is out...

We can either go around the hill and down to it or pick another trail. We can let Tim decide when he gets a chance....

Not sure if the forest roads are closed or not, but there is a road that is just past the ranger station on the 330 that will take you all the way to Middle Control Road and all points in between. I used to take that trail all the time on a dual sport bike. Good luck with your run everyone.

I plan on meeting at the chevron station at hwy 330 and highland ave @ 8. Bill will post address soon for everyone who's not familiar with the area

I am in no matter where we go. I already have the Jeep packed and ready to roll. I am good with any run I the Western United States. I can drive anywhere and have lots of gas. I will keep an eye on the posts to see the meeting point.

Strangely the address is hard to bring up, but it happens to be across the St from a Hampton inn and suites at 27959 Highland Ave, highland CA. It is off the 330 on Highland Ave, take a left on Highland and Chevron is on the right hand side. See ya there!

Sounds like a plan Steve been a long while since I stumbled up that trail and since it leads to the main attraction why not. Don't remember exactly the spot but well find it. Anticipating 9:45 up there

Boy does this sound confusing. I will try to figure this out but don't wait for me. If I am late I will just meet up on the trail hopefully.

I can't wait to get out on the trail tomorrow, after today's accident with the tanker and all the other things going on. So far the weather is looking like it will be great for us so off with the doors and the top in the morning. See you all at the chevron in the morning, and for the hi dez folks see you at the trail head
