Dan, thank you for setting up the run. We both had a great time. Also thanks for letting me use your compressor, onboard air just moved up a notch on my list of things to do.

Thank you everyone for making today perfect. We made it through the trails without too much serious stuff happening.

I made it out of Holcomb with a beat up rim and bad alignment but other than that i'm happy. Ill have a video up sometime later this week when I have time.

See you on the trails...

Made it to oreillys 3 minutes before they closed and just put on a new alternator and am finally on my way home from bb. Also ripped a shock off. That being said, I still had a great time with good friends old and new. Thanks for putting it together Dan.

Thanks everyone for a great day and to Dan for putting it together. We got home, unloaded the jeep, then I crawled under her(the jeep), to make sure everything was good, and it was, then thought about taking the pressure washer to her(Candy), but told her to just get in the shower instead. So, we're all cleaned up and getting properly hydrated and hoping that the jeep fairy will come and clean the jeep by next weekend. Hope everyone made it home safe. Happy trails, Mark and Candy.

Thanks everyone for coming out. What an adventure. We managed to get 18 jeeps thru two of Big Bear's most difficult trails without any damage (that I know of). That is hard to do when a flop is involved. This trip had so much action other than the trails itself. We started with worries of trail closures due to a fire in Big Bear. We also had to deal with a fuel problem on a 1951 Willey. We spent some time rigging up a new shock mount after a shock bolt broke. We had to jump a few jeeps to get them started again, add gas to one jeep as someone found out the full reading on his gas gauge was not correct. We had to upright a flopped jeep and winch a few people that got high centered on the rocks. Two jeepers got to use their winches for the FIRST time. All this action resulted in a long day. Never once did I hear any complains. Everyone made the best of the down time by helping out when they could, getting to know the other jeepers, and checking out the array of cool jeeps in our group. What a fantastic group. People make jeeping fun. It was a true pleasure jeeping with all of you.
I would like to thank Grant for doing a ton of excellent spotting, Dakota and Bill for taking the trail lead, Mark for tail gunning, and everyone else for helping out as needed.
I was so happy to be in Big Bear again on a perfect day in the mountains. The trails look to be in great shape. Just be warned, the fireroads are dusty!

Great day on the trail....18 Jeeps...quite a turnout. It was nice hanging out with everyone and meeting a few more...It doesn't seem like that long ago we would have 5-6 Jeeps turn out for a run, I guess the jeep spirit is alive and well I know several of you had a bit of a drive after our 8-10 hrs on the trail....That Makes for a long day, but a good day! Tracey took some pics that we will pull together later and I saw lots of cameras and go pros out as well, so I'm looking forward to the pics! Here is my opening shot of the day from the trailhead...empty road one minute and the next....

Having now joined the ASDAF (American Society of Dumb Ass Floppers) I have to say that I too was shocked to have no damage. Outside of all of that though, I was driving home and trying to shake off the bad juju, thinking through the whole affair, and there were three of things that really stood out to me.

1. It's pretty amazing the speed at which everyone responded, and how many people really helped when my mind was going a million miles an hour. I remember hearing someone (don't know who) yelling, "turn off the engine", wow... didnt even think of that. then "take the keys OUT of the ignition" again... sound advice. Next thing you know, a large group of amazing people were righting my Jeep back on all fours. Really an amazing moment.

2. I am, and was deeply reminded of how amazing of a group of people we have here. Yes, it was cool to get things fixed, and I am glad that there was no damage; but more than any of that it is really an incredible feeling to know how firmly we stand together. I could get super sappy, but let's just say that I would rather be with a group of Jeepers than just about any group. And as far as Jeepers go, you guys are the best. Thanks for keeping us all safe.

3. I hate it, but this was all driver error. I was done for the day, in 2wd, and headed home. I looked down at something as I was leaving and next thing I knew I was on my side. It happened so fast, and so carelessly ... That's just not the way I like to roll (excuse the pun.) It's amazing how fast things can get away from us... it's a good lesson for me, and thankfully not an expensive one.

Now, I just need to get my ass back up on that horse. Next weekend is no longer optional

Thanks to everyone for helping out, for being there, and being so incredibly cool. I am damn proud to be a part of this crew.

-Scott

Thanks Dan for getting the run together- and everyone that helped with the spotting. And Jim for the nice lunch spread. Glad I got to use my winch to help that Jeeper high centered on the rocks. (Gosh, can't remember that person's name.)
Holcomb was a great trail, the weather was perfect and the company was great.
Video sometime in the next couple of days.

Alright I need help deciding on how I am going to release this video of the day. I have 1 hour of footage inline already cut in iMovie. That is a lot of footage! Does everyone want 4 releases with every one/thing or a short 15min video with highlights. I usually like to do two parts but with soo much I am going to have to do 3-4 15-20min vids. What do you think will be best?

My computer is doing its very best to melt into a hunk of molten plastic, so I was only able to get a handful of photos uploaded. I will post the rest when I get a new power adapter, but here is the preview. Hope you all like fisheye lens photos because that's all I have.

Great run Dan. I appreciate all you efforts in putting this together.

Debra and I met a lot of great people and a few we met on previous runs. The Jeep community has been a great group since we started last August. I always thought you couldn't meet a nicer group of people after all the years I have been riding bikes in the desert but I was wrong.

I'm looking forward to seeing several of you again next Saturday on the Heartbreak run. I checked under my Jeep and it looks like I might have missed hitting one of my four new skid plates. I need to try harder to get my money's worth!
