Maybe my next BB trip I'll hit Lower Larga and Holcomb ... I'm fixin' to pick up set of old rubi rails so I'll be more willing to take on big rocks

It's black diamond ... but it is easier than Heartbreak. You'll be fine. Want me to add you to the list?

Black Diamond sounds scary! But okay sure! Lol. I will have my sliders by then too. Better not leave me out there stuck on a big rock mountain! Lol

You are on the list! Does sound scary ... but on the sliding scale this is more moderate than difficult. Not a whole lot of big rocks to worry about, but the trail does get tippy and twisty, making it harder for bigger vehicles.

Nope. I haven't been on this since I was a kid. But they just ran it last weekend at Jeep Jamboree, and it's one of IE4W's AAT trails, so I imagine the trail is maintained.

How do I get to the trail head? I am planning on camping somewhere in Big Bear Thursday and Friday nights, then just take the Jeep full of gear on the run.

It will depend on if Joe want to do 3N07y like he had talked about....
Otherwise you'll take hwy 18 down the back side a bit to 3N03...I'd image well meet up there...

Took the kiddos to Holcomb Valley when I got back to Cali. I remember a lot more structures being there when I was a kid.

Well meet at Cactus Flats Trailhead on 3N07Y, there is a good staging area there to air down.

There are two ways to get there. You can take HWY 18 like you are going to Lucerne Valley, and at mile marker 59.73 get ready to make a sharp turn onto 3N07Y. This is a hidden turn and very easy to miss, plus it's on the side of a hill.

The other way is to go down another mile and a half to the 3N03 turnoff a quarter mile after mile marker 61. On 3N03 head back about 1.25 miles and take a right onto 3N07Y. The staging area is hard to miss once you get onto 3N07Y.

Sorry I was editing my post. We will meet at the Cactus Flats staging area on 3N07Y. Probably be the best place to stage and air down.

Also to clarify those mile markers are coming from Big Bear. Coming up from Lucerne Valley will have different mile markers, but the turns are the same. I'll repost all this on the first post!

Okay I made the changes to the first post. Just to clarify we will meet at 0900 at the Cactus Flats OHV staging area. It's a nice big area that's off the road to air down.

Now that being said. If any one wants to meet for breakfast at Cafe 247 we can. We will just make necessary adjustments.

Joe, It looks like we will be staying at 7 Oaks that weekend and should be able to make the run no problem....unless of course another fuel truck flops...

That is awesome news Bill... I think we are gonna have a pretty good size group!

Oh a bit of warning about the gas station in Lucerne Valley if anyone stops there to top off. USE CASH. I used my debit card there once to top off and someone had one of those card scanners. I was out around $700 before my bank caught on...
