Talking I'm soo bored. Let's plan a run July 13th weekend

Don't really want to drive more than 3.5 hours..I'm coming from Ventura. My ideas?

1. Miller and surrounding
2. Calico **Brave the heat--No Big Deal..who cares! Let's wheel!
3. BB

I'm going wheeling..who's coming and where would we like to go??

Lorie

Oh, and BTW..I camp Fri-Sun ; and wheel through sunday when I go.'

******************************************
Miller- Ok for stock rigs with at least 31's
Calico and BB- Risk possible damage if you DON'T have some sort of lift, sliders, armor, and preferably 33's. Locker would be helpful as well.

Wife and I could be down for something. Jeep is only stock with Rubi tires, so I can't get too crazy, but I would love to get out there and do something.

Probably be OK on Miller and surrounding, but the trails we'll be running in Calico and BB will jack up your junk most likely..could always ride with someone and come out and camp with us just to get out...there's always open passenger seats. I know it's more fun driving, but there's never a dull moment around our camp either

I ran doran and oddesaus with a 2 inch BB lift and 31" ATs. With a couple of tugs of course

Not saying it can't get done with rigs more stock; just saying it's a risk. And you can't be afraid of scrapin' or breakin' your junk. So, there's my disclaimer

Truer words were never spoken. Some stockers make it, some don't. I didn't. Lol.

Well, I'm running the stock Rubicon tires on my sport U. Which are 32's. I have the stock transfer case/ gas tank / Evap skid plates, and I will be putting on a Rock Hard Transmission/catalytic converter/oil pan skid plate this weekend. So pretty much the tires and that plate are the only things i've done to get better at off roading so far.

If Calico will be too much for me thats cool. I'm a noob anyways and would rather not cut my teeth on something that's a bit more than i can handle just yet. And I definately do not want to hold a group of more experienced jeepers up.

My advice. Come out, roll slow, and find out just how capable your rig is. It's always a good time.

If you can afford it get some rock sliders. That will help tremendously. We'll go out soon brother and break her in at Rowher. My advice is to find out where your comfort level is before you go too crazy and end up damaging your rig. IMO

I have the side steps.

I know they aren't sliders, but that's what I got from the dealer.

You're right. They're not sliders. They're plastic running boards, and they will hang up tight on the first rock they come in contact with. Easy fix though. Get sliders.

I have taken stock Rubi's, X's and sports down Doran and Odessa with no problems. They all had upgraded sliders, with the exception of the X and he paid the price for that.

Get rid of those Sahara steps. Get some Rock Hard rock sliders. Still have a step and side armor like you won't believe. The installer for these was 6'2" and could stand on them with ease to install my sport cage. Not only that, these sliders protect under the fender flares as well as can be seen in the pic.

All about wheel placement.

Where we going? That's what this thread is about..post up your choice..

I figure whichever choice is most wanted, decides on where we go. I'm down with any of the 3. When I get a better feel of what everyone's preference is, I'll post up the run on a new thread.

I'm always posting runs with what, where and when. It's Wheelers choice this time

LOL Feeling a little Redemption coming on Rob? LOL

Looks like a couple for Calico and a BB so far..we'll see how she plays out..The heat in Calico will scare a lot away..but ohhh, such good wheeling and worth it..but then, so are the other 2.

Ok, so I took everyone's advice and I just ordered some Smittybilt rock sliders.

Sorry to derail your thread again I H8RDS, but I didn't think this was worth making a new thread for. Now back to our scheduled topic of Where to Wheel.

Ok, so you have oil pan skid and sliders and 32's...You may scrape in a few places due to your clearance, but should be OK..but again, your call. We just did Miller last weekend. A smaller group of us are doing a group camp in BB next weekend. For me, it doesn't matter where we go...Miller would be a good first time run for you to get your feet wet...or you can plunge right in Calico or BB.. We'll see what people want to do....Either way, it'll be a good time....Always is!
