I can not commit to this run yet, but keeping it in the back of my mind. Running up to Gorman this week with Pt. Mugu as I have not wheel with them in a few years and also been watching the other Calico thread too. Well see how funds go, as it is nice with fuel prices down a bit.

Gas in Barstow at the Food 4 Less Fuel station was $3.48 today...
Gas in Yermo at the ARCO station on Ghost town rd was 3.52 today...
Gas has been falling in price by a penny a day for over a week now!!

That is great, I hope it continues to go down even as Thanksgiving approaches.

Being the queit/shy type, I really enjoy the smaller groups, we get better one-on-one time with the new folks and good quality time with our regular wheeling family members.

I for one am really missing Calico and my wheeling family--it's been TOO long!

Ya, I don't know why. Sometimes I have 20 rigs for Calico; sometimes a handful. Either way, Calico is always fun..less dusty than last run too

Yep, I know. Can't run it that weekend. No biggie. I'm good with a smaller group too.

Did not get to do Gorman today, so odds are getting better. Going to try and get jeep in garage today for check up and possible more lift.

What lift do you have on there now?

If you decide you'd like to join, just let me know. You and anyone you'd like to bring are welcomed.

I have a tall H&R 1" spring lift with a JKS 1.25" body lift. It works well for me, however the Edlebrock shocks limit travel thus bought Rancho's new 7000's in hope they come close to the performance of the Edlebrocks. I also have 2" BDS coils waiting to go in and some RK upper arms as well as a set of Currie lowers. This should give plenty of roomfor the 32's to stuff.

10 Day Weather Forecast for Calico - weather.com

It doesn't look like we're going to have a huge group this go around.

EVERYONE CAMPING- PLEASE BRING WOOD!

If only a couple people bring wood, we are going to run out and our Foxy neighbors are going to think We are their appetizers!

I'm going to try and attend this run. Most likely I'll be coming out early Saturday morning to make the 930 start time. I've never been to calico, what's the camping info... Do I need to look into reservations? Or is it all about finding a chunk of open dirt to set up camp?

Yes and I always have a spinning steel target in the RV. But for as expensive and difficult as it is to get ammo I wont be firing much other than a Rugar 10/22.

[QUOTE=I H8RDS;5704434]Look at our weather- Gorgeous!!!
10 Day Weather Forecast for Calico - weather.com

Calico is defiantly one of my favorite places to 4wheel.
We got back yesterday afternoon from Calico, the weather was amazing and the Town was all decorated for Halloween my kids loved it, there's even a "Headless Horsemen" cruising through the campground at night.
We took solo 5hr trip and found several dead end trails, but each one had it's own treasures at the end. They really weren't on any maps we had, or marked
One had about a 75' drop to a beautiful jagged rocked canyon with a 50' cliff above. Sorry no pictures, we forgot the camera. I know it was my fault.
Enjoy

I want to take a few of my .22's out to Calico on the following weekend that you all are going but not sure I can find ammo.
Seems like finding .22lr ammo is more difficult than other calibers right now, around here.
Any ideas on some places that have large qty (thinking 3000rds) of .22 in stock ?

I'm going crazy at work and thinking of heading to CA this weekend- would you guys mind having a neighbor from AZ along with you? Would it be realistic to join up sometime Saturday AM? I ordered the ACE sliders but I don't think they'll arrive in time- I have the stock rubi rails, rubi skids, lockers and swaybar, 32 KMs but no lift, rampage front bumper and loops/strap- should I even be attempting this stuff? I reload and can bring a good amount of ammo and firewood as an offering!

Edit: Also worth mentioning- my experience level is modest, I am putting a CB in tomorrow night.
