Hey Kota, when are you going to set a date? I have to plan something for work on one of those Saturdays so need to know soon. I don't see any recent input from anyone.

This sounds like fun. Haven't been out there in 5 years. 2nd or 3rd weekend looks good for me. Does anyone else have young ones they bring along? I'd like to bring the wife & daughter,

I think the 3-5th was ruled out because it's too close to new years. The 11th would currently work for me.

Q;

Is Anza Borrego camping only in designated camp sites area, no dry camps ?
What if you trailer your Jeep, is there an area to park your trailer ?
It does not look like there are any pull through sites on their map ?
Thanks

There are plenty of tent camping areas but it states no fire.

There are actual camp grounds too. Off of S2 I believe. I will look at my map when I get home.

We stayed at Palm Canyon resort last year in the RV. I believe they had all types of RV or camping and hotel type rooms.

Kota- pick a date man.
FYI to all: we stayed here last year:
Borrego Springs Motel: Affordable Solar Powered Accommodations located adjacent to Anza Borrego Desert State Park, Californiadjac
Super cheap, very clean, very pet friendly. Tiny little no frills motel. The owners are very nice. The only bad "very"- the bed is VERY firm. We'll probably stay again- but I'll pack my air mattress to throw on top of the bed. Just depends on your preference.....

You can camp anywhere in the Ocotillo Wells SRVA. In the Anza Borrego Desert State Park you can only camp in the places designated for camping. I mentioned in the first post where a good place for dry camping would be out on the "SR-22 and Peg Leg RD". I know the camp sites at the Palm Canyon resort are pull through. I dont know about the ones up at the state campground but can definitely check for you if you like.

In most places fires must be contained (i.e: in a old washing machine bin, a cage of some sorts)

In Ocotillo Wells you can have a fire ring (a ring of rocks on the ground) but cannot burn any wood with nails.

And I think you are thinking of the S22, the S2 is a bit away from Borrego.

No TV, No Wi-Fi. For $75 I am all about clean bed, clean bathroom and not hearing the guy in the tent next to me snore.
Someone should make a tent with sound insulation. That's it! My millions are made....

Did some scouting around with BorregoRick, Fred1, and 87Octane today for a Friday early bird run. Found some really fun places.

Borrego Springs Resort is the best imo. If you do choose them call them and ask for the managers special

I am a firm most likely. Hard to tell at this point but I hate to miss this one. Put me down for a Saturday run and I'll figure out the rest later.
