I have to work that saturday. So I'm out. Plus it seems like a bad first trail to break in the wife to wheeling.....

Ok the meeting address is 4304 Highland Ave, Highland CA at 7:45AM. Should put us early enough on the trail to beat most of the traffic. So far we have you, a buddy (yellow LJ) and me (red TJ)

I thought people would be all over this run!

If my timing is right we should be at the gatekeeper at 9:30ish. We will be on CB Ch 4 but if you have a Ham radio we have that as well.

EOS 5d on-board! JB is probably too rough for a stock unlimited, but maybe something easier!

I ran JB last Saturday, the hard section had got torn up pretty bad and all the the 23 jeeps ahead of me went the right side of the hard section, some got winched, a stocker will just get torn up on that trail.

I have never run JB. I have a 4 door with 34" nittos, and a 2.5 budget boost no lockers, full armor do I stand a chance?

If you do, have someone with you that is patient, has a winch or at least a strap, and expect undercarriage carnage. Having no locker is going to be a real challenge.

So sounds like this is going to be a great time then! . Got any pictures of the trail?

Big Vic, we are fully equipped and are very patient wheelers and don't just blaze through the trail. We will spot and winch you through whatever obstacles and keep damage to a minimum.

How does JB compare to Holcomb? I've run that without to much struggle.

I think Moabrubi will definitely take care of you if you need help!.. I have wheeled with them a few times and they are fully equipped with recovery gear and wheeling knowledge.

I'm sure the Jpi guys or anyone else who has ran it recently can tell you better then I can. From the small section I have run I would say it is more difficult though. I ran Holcomb on 32's and remember it being pretty easy.

We won't let him crush his muffler with a boulder at the gatekeeper .

Holcomb and John Bull are about the same difficulty. There is just more of it on John Bull.

How are you comparing Holcomb Creek against Odessa/Doran at Calico this year? I'm headed to Big Bear in 2 weeks.

They both have their challengeing spots. But Holcomb has far less of them in my opinion.

I agree with this.

I would add that one thing that might make Calico seem easier: Most of the waterfalls/obstacles at Calico have only one line. On Holcomb, there are multiple lines in many places. Usually a moderate line and a HARD line. Most of the moderate lines are to the left (if you're traveling east to west).

Plus there's some added difficult on Holcomb because some of the obstacles have running water. I tried to take one of the harder lines when we were there a few weeks ago. Looked like fun until I couldn't get any traction in the water. Had to back out and take the line to the left.

In regard to difficulty, if you take the moderate lines, I would say it's equal to Calico. If you take the harder lines, more difficult than Calico.
