Great run yesterday! Makes me want to go back and do John Bull again. That was my second time running it and it has changed in the last year. Holcomb seems different too, harder than I remember it.

I'd still like to try that one section near the middle if it dries up in the summer. That adds a new level of difficulty when there's flowing water on an obstacle.

Here's the few pics I got on Holcomb. I got video of JB, will post as soon as I have a chance to edit it.

It was a great run, especially with the presence of great friends that I met on this forum.
Thanks Bill for organizing it.
Sorry didn't take any pics, was busy climbing over rocks.
I can hardly wait to see other's pics and videos. Rick great pics so far, thanks.

Wow that was a good day of wheeling! Thanks Bill for setting this run up and Dan thanks for excellent spotting. It was great seeing everyone again and meeting a few new quality people as expected from this forum.

John Bull is now my favorite BB trail and looking forward to hopefully doing it again soon. Both the Bull and Holcomb are challenging and I can see why some feel Holcomb is more challenging but I don't recall seeing any straps on Holcomb this time. I think most of my damage was from Holcomb but that was because of me and the lines I chose. I sure am glad I waited until I had full armor and HD steering before doing these trails. Definitely getting my moneys worth.

This is in Big Bear and one of many trails in the area. John Bull is known to be the toughest of the bunch, but I don't think it's as tough as I hear Dusy is and certainly not as long. I haven't done Dusy and I'm not sure anyone on this thread has. Big Bear trails are my favorite because of the forest and scenery.

I'm scheduled to do it in August. My buddy who just ran the Bull with us has and said it's about the same but the Dusy just keeps coming at you and Thompson Hill is tougher.

Hey Chuck. What kind of dog is that?

I didn't get to talk to you on the run. I asked someone who's in the red Rubi. Catch you on the next one!

My wife and I want to give a BIG thank you to Bill for setting this up, we met a great bunch of new people and saw some others again. I have to say that each time we go it seems like a Nurse's Convention as my wife is one and there are always others (can't have enough nurses when 4 wheeling, especially how I drive..lol).

Thanks to Bill and Dan's spotting I did things in my CJ that are hard to believe as we are rookie drivers. We are so comfortable and appreciate so much how they and the people that show up for these rides care about safety first and than watch over you to make sure your good.

What a wonderful bunch and we look forward to the next outing.

No problem, glad you made it out. This was a great group of Jeep & Peeps!

You did great, and its natural to be uncomfortable when your mental tilt meter is telling you your way off center You should only proceed as long as you feel good about it and I am glad you guys felt comfortable. We do care about safety! See you next time!!

Thanks Bill for putting this run together. My daughter and I had a great time. Sorry I missed the CB conversation as we turned down the CB volume as we talked away. She is fresh back from college and we had a lot to catch up on. I did not know if I was going to be able to make this run, and I'm glad I did. It was a great bunch of jeepers! I'm so glad we added Holcomb to John Bull. When I got home I discovered some issues on my jeep that need attention. Hopefully I see you all on the trail once I get the issues worked out...
BTW, great PIC's! thanks for posting them up

My engine skid was touching my oil pan and my transfer case skid was touching my transmission.

My GMC Yukon drive over trick didn't work. So I pinned the plate between my floor jack and my Yukon frame and finally got things straitened out enough.

Thanks for the help Dan! We make a good team! Now if we could just get you off that bike seat and on to your Jeep seat more often... As far as the CB conversation goes, you made the right call talking to your daughter. You can hear our BS anytime.....

What Bill said. If its easy its not worth doing. Of course unless you think it's going to cause a big break. In that case revise the rule above. Great trip guys.

Hey if your not bending something or dragging your jeep across the rocks, your not on the right trail...

That's a nice way of saying I need bigger tires, belly up skid, listen to your spotter, pick better lines and learn how to drive your Jeep.

Sure, just throw thousands of dollars at it and surely it will be better!
